This came with my cutter but no instructions on what to do with it. I'm hoping you can tell me what it's for since I bought the cutter from you. Thanks for any help you can offer.

A:
That would be your backup cutting strip. A cut strip is already installed on your cutter, but these can get cuts and gouges in them with use. The cut strips have an adhesive on the back to hold them in place. To replace your cut strip, we simply use a pick tool to get under one end of the strip and lift it off. Sometimes, you can rotate that strip 180 degrees so that the gouges are to the back of the vinyl cutter and you'll have a nice, smooth cut area that aligns under the cutting blade. (The adhesive side remains pointing down, to hold the cut strip in place).
When you have cut marks on the strip both front and back, remove the old one, peel the paper protective backing on the backup strip and align it to the same channel or space the old strip had been.

Have you changed cutting strips? I received a gray very narrow strip that will not fill the cut strip area on my GCC expert 24. let me know if I have the wrong product.

A:
These are the same cutting strips we've had in stock for quite awhile. The replacement cut strip does not need to fill the entire area, but be centered in the cut area.

The cut strip is about 24" long and you can flip the strip 180 degrees once you get cut lines in it, to extend the life of your cut strip.
