Q: I found rolls of this Magic Foil that I ordered sometime ago. Is there a shelf life for this? What is the material I use to transfer this to a shirt? Does that come in a roll? I am so sorry I have looked thru some of my orders and cannot figure out what I use. Thanks, Barbara

A: Provided it has been stored in a temperature controlled room (not in an overly hot/cold garage for example), it should last for years. Next you would also need Siser Easyweed Adhesive to attach it to fabric.

The magic foil is designed to be adhered using Siser Easyweed HTV. It is designed to be used on shirts and other fabrics, as for layering you can layer it on top of HTV but it will have a more "distressed" look. It is not recommended to layer materials on top of magic foil.

A: Hi there! You'll want to set the washer on "delicate" without fabric softener and either hang dry or dry using low heat.

A: We usually recommend using it on fabric but we have applied it to other surfaces using a specialty mug press.

A: This foil does need heat to properly release from its carrier and properly adhere.

A: Foil although gorgeous, wouldn't be suitable under stones. Reason being, even laundering improperly will cause it to flake off within a few washes. The stones don't have a good foundation to sit upon.

I'm sorry, we do not have samples to send, but the Holographic colors we have are 25 feet of foil on a roll for less than a dollar a foot.
We have tutorials on our YouTube channel showing how to use our Magic Foil using a printer rather than having to use the Easyweed Adhesive! Let us know if you have questions using our materials.

TRW Magic Foil is used with Siser Easweed Adhesive and is meant for apparel. We have tested pressing the Easyweed Adhesive and foil to mugs with mixed results. You would definitely need a mug press and the foil is a Cold peel. Foil is also very delicate, so you'd need to handwash the mug. We have not tested foil on mugs long term, so if you're wanting to try it, we'd recommend testing on a mug you'd use yourself and see how well it holds up.

For decals that will hold up with daily use, consider pressing htv to our HTV Anything decal material. We've tested these types of decals on mugs and put them in the dishwasher. If you will be using thinner htv, flip the decal over and roll the decal off of the carrier sheet of the htv, to help prevent wrinkles of the carrier pulling up the edge of your HTV Anything.

A: The Magic Foil will adhere to the print from a Laser Printer. We use a Laser Printer only printing in black and set the print quality to the highest possible dpi for best results.
