Q: My previous question was not fully answered. I’m trying to figure out how to use easyweed adhesive (with magic foil) on the same shirt with hotfix rhinestones. Since they have different heat press temperatures, I’m not sure how to do that.

Q: I followed the instructions in one of your videos...280 degrees for 4 seconds. The Easyweed adhesive did not pull off cleanly. Did I press it too long or not long enough? I ended up with a distressed look.

A: There will be a shiny side, and a dull matte side. Cut on the dull side. Reminder, also make sure you mirror your image before cutting.

Yes, this is the Adhesive you would use with the foils. Think of it as a large glue sheet that you cut your designs in reverse (Mirrored) and weed off the excess. We have seen people use the Adhesive to apply patches to caps or to make SOME non-hotfix materials "hotfix". We have seen people use this to make twill, patches, leatherette, etc. become a heat-applied 'patch' or material. It can take some experimentation from material to material in regards to your pressure/heat/dwell time, but you can make many creative items using this heat-activated adhesive. We have seen people use this adhesive to press a lasered bamboo 'patch' to a piece of our Bling Anything material to create a lasered bamboo dishwasher safe decal. The Siser Easyweed Adhesive is clear but before it's pressed, it has a bit of an opaque look to it, which makes it easier for you to see your cut lines to weed it. Once it is tacked to your garment, it is perfectly clear and does not affect the finished design's colors.

Please remember to Mirror your designs when cutting Easyweed Adhesive, same as you would when cutting heat transfer vinyl.

Mistakes are often just "there" after pressing, as the adhesive really melts into the fibers, but sometimes you can heat vinyl from behind gently (like using an iron) and peel it with tweezers, or use a liquid vinyl remover like VLR.

Yes, Siser Easyweed Adhesive is a one-time use product.
You'll cut your design into the Easyweed Adhesive same as you would htv...mirror your design.
Weed out the excess material and tack press to your garment with a 2-3 second press.
Remove the carrier sheet and align your Magic Foil. With Magic Foil, you can layer multiple colors across your design, crinkle the foil to give a distressed look and press. If you do the distressed look, go back with a second color of foil and press again, to fill the 'cracks'.
When you press foil more than one time, you'll get a matte-metallic look.

You cure can. We've made custom holiday cards with the foil, and have even applied it to wrapped canvas. It had a vintage look, but still worked.
Be mindful of the length of press time, heat etc. Since it's not going to applied to a garment, and won't be put through wash, you don't always need to press as long.
Experiment on a spare and find that sweet spot first.

When pressing a multidec design, where you have different materials, especially with different pressing temperatures, you need to work from warm peel to cold peel.
That being said, you also need to consider the rhinestones have a profile and are thicker than the foil or easyweed adhesive and you will press the THINNEST materials first (Easyweed Adhesive gets a tack press), then the foil, so that you do get full pressure and dwell time to those products.

Then, press the hotfix rhinestones. A couple of things to keep in mind: your foil will take on a Matte look rather than that super shiny mirrored appearance, since it is being pressed more than one time.
Try to keep the Acrylic Hotfix Tape for your rhinestones away from the foil, so you don't accidentally lift any of the foil when you peel the tape off of the rhinestones after pressing. If your design does not allow you to trim the Acrylic hotfix tape to fully keep it from touching your foil, we'd recommend doing a test on a sample shirt. Tack the Easyweed Adhesive, press the foil, let it cool fully and peel off the excess. Then press stones near that foil and allow the tape to cover the foil. Still allow the entire test to cool completely and then peel the Acrylic hotfix tape, to see if it does, in-fact, lift the foil or if the foil will remain undisturbed.
