Silhouette Studio Business Edition Upgrade (From Designer Edition)

Q: I just updated my Silhouette Studio to the Designer Edition. Can I updated it with the $50 upgrade or do I need to upgraded it with the $100 upgrade.? I need to be able to save my files to svgs to be able to use my Cricut 3. Thank you.

The $50 upgrade is to go from Designer to Business Edition, so yes, the $50 upgrade will work for you. :)

We often encourage people to invest in the Silhouette Studios Business Edition so they can design and export their work as svg to upload to Cricut's Design Space. Great thinking!

Another tip: If you are doing rhinestone templates, create a weed box around the design and knockout your stones (make compound path) so that when you upload to Design Space, the software only sees it as a single object with lots of holes, rather than hundreds of dots.

You do not use SIlhouette Studio with Design Space, but rather do your designing within Silhouette Studio and then export it as an SVG from Silhouette Studio to Design Space. To do so you would need Business Edition to have the ability to export as an SVG file.

Hi there! After purchasing you will receive an upgrade code from either TRW or Silhouette. In Silhouette Studio, open the “Help” tab, and in the dropdown find the “Upgrade Silhouette Software” option. A pop-up prompt will ask for the registered license and personal email account information (your personal Silhouette account, not your TRW account). Once that information is entered, you're good to go!

A: No you do not have to have a business to purchase this upgrade, this is just the most featured upgrade Silhouette offers for Silhouette Studio.

To find your Silhouette upgrade serial number, first, log in to your TRW account on our website. Then click My Account and then My Orders. There are 2 places the serial number can appear.

The order with the upgrade can have the Serial Number on the Download page, off to the right-hand side of the screen directly under the Download button.

If the serial number is not appearing directly under the Downloads button, please look at Order Comments on the order. This is on the left hand side of the screen. The first section reads, "Items" and shows what you've ordered. The second section reads, "Downloads" and has the download link and the third section is our, "Order Comments" section. In these situations, the Serial number will be posted under the Order Comments section.

Users can upgrade to any software edition from any other software edition. For example, you can upgrade directly from the free basic Silhouette Studio to Business Edition. Likewise, if you previously upgraded to say, Designer Edition, you can later you purchase a partial upgrade (at a prorated fee) and upgrade from Designer Edition to Business Edition.

If you are considering a Silhouette craft cutter for your home and you are a Mac user, you are in luck! Silhouette Studio design software is compatible with Mac computers (iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook and Mac Mini) that meet these minimum requirements:

A Silhouette Studio license key can be used on up to three devices at once. A user can sign into their Silhouette account on up to 10 computers, but only three of those devices can be actively connected to the library at the same time.
