Questions and Answers
Ready for a blade replacement?
This replacement blade is compatible with the following cutters: Roland GS-24, GCC Expert IV, GCC Expert, Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Explore Air 2.
This blade is NOT compatible with Cricut Joy Cameo Cutters.
If you are cutting thinner materials such as
Siser-Easyweed
or
Colorspark-Holographic
vinyl we suggest you use the 45 degree blade. If you are cutting thicker material like
Magic-Flock
template material or
Glitter-Vinyl
, we suggest the 65 degree blade for the best cut.
2mm blade fit into the standard blade housing of the Roland GS-24, Cricut Explore Air, Cricut Explore Air 2, older GCC models (Jaguar IV and Expert 24), and TRW's Blade Holder.
For Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Explore Air 2 you must use the pre-existing holder that came with your Cricut to hold the TRW replacement blade. To fit into the standard blade housing for the Jaguar V and Expert II you will need the The 2.5mm blade, this 2mm blade will not fit in their standard blade housing.

A:
Yes, this is a replacement for the Cricut Explore Air 2. If you are cutting thinner materials such as Easyweed or Colorspark Holographic you would use the 45 degree blade. If you are cutting thicker material like Flock or Glitter vinyl, you would use the 65 degree blade.

Q:
Can you use this blade to cut chipboard?
Asked by:
X
- 7/5/2022
A:
This blade is used in place of the Cricut Deep Cut blade and is a higher quality blade. Whatever materials you'd use the Cricut Deep Point blade on, you should be able to use this blade with ease.
Please note that often, Cricut states you must do several passes to cut through these specialty materials. We recommend doing test cuts every time, to be sure you have your cut specs dialed in properly.

Q:
Would the 65 degree or 45 degree blade be better for cutting cardstock?
Asked by:
Kassandra
- 3/15/2021
A:
Cut setting may vary based on your particular blade, blade life, and material so we always suggest doing a test cut before any project to determine which works best for you. However, 45 would commonly be used for thinner materials and would be a good place to start, normally the 65 is only required for thicker hard to cut materials.

Q:
Is this the blade I need for my cricut maker for magic flock
Asked by:
Sherry Beauchamp
- 1/25/2023
A:
Very close...we use the 45 degree blade for Magic Flock. Search for Blade on our site and the ones labeled Roland|GCC|Cricut - 45 degrees will be the blades you'll want.
When you go to cut the Magic Flock, peel the paper backing off and stick the Magic Flock directly to your cutting mat. This will help weed out the dots.
Then, set a custom cut setting of 350 pressure, Fine Point Blade and Single Cut. When prompted by Design Space, select More for pressure.

Q:
Would this 65° blade be the right choice to cut expressions vinyl reflective material?
Asked by:
Ray
- 5/26/2023
A:
We don't carry that brand, so we have not tested cut settings on it. We use the 65 Degree blade for thicker materials, such as Siser Brick. With our own ColorSpark Flash Reflective htv or our ColorSpark Reflective Adhesive Vinyl, we use the 45 degree blade.
When cutting any material, we recommend doing test cuts, so you can get the cut specs dialed in properly.

How do you know which angel blade to buy for silhouette machine when making stencils

A:
We use the 45 degree blade for almost everything, except for thicker materials, like the Siser Brick htv. Whichever blade you choose to use, always do test cuts to get your cut specs dialed in properly.
