Q: Does the HTV Anything go on the top or the bottom of the regular HTV?

Asked by: TRW Customer - 2/18/2021
A: HTV Anything will always be your bottom or base layer. Think of HTV Anything as your T-shirt that your are pressing your heat transfer vinyl too. You are just turning your HTV into a dishwasher safe sticker or decal. You also press to the SHINY side.

Here is a heat pressing example:
You are making a custom glitter name to go on a tumbler with HTV Anything, Hot Pink Glitter HTV, and White Glitter HTV.

Step 1: Press the White Glitter HTV to the HTV Anything material at 315 Degrees for 3-4 Seconds.

Step 2: Press the Hot Pink Glitter HTV to the White Glitter HTV at 315 Degrees for 8-10 Seconds.

Step 3: You decal is now completed. When ready to apply you will just remove the back carrier sheet of the HTV Anything Material to expose the Adhesive and apply to your smooth flat surface.

Q: What cut setting should you use when cutting htv anything on a cricut maker? Also is it better to cut the same image on the htv anything or just the outline?

Asked by: Katie - 2/18/2021
A: For the HTV Anything on the Cricut Maker I use these custom settings in Design Space:

Cut Pressure: 240
Multi Cut: Off
Blade: Fine Point Blade

When cutting the HTV Anything you want to create a offset or Contour of the Heat Transfer Vinyl Design to make it easier to line up correctly. I normally do about a .06" Offset with the HTV Anything

Q: What is HTV Anything used for?

Asked by: TRW Customer - 2/18/2021
A: HTV Anything is a unique material that The Rhinestone World manufactures to turn regular heat transfer vinyls into a dishwasher safe sticker/decal. So you can use a product like a beautiful Siser Glitter HTV that you would normally use for t-shirts and heat press it to the HTV Anything material to make a custom decal. You can also layer the Glitter HTV as much as you would like to have multiple colors. The HTV Anything material has a special adhesive on the back to then apply it to any smooth flat surface you would like for your customers. Examples are Tumblers, Cups, Cell Phones, TV's, Walls, Windows, and much more.

Q: just like to know how to use this and when do i use it?

Asked by: Livier - 3/1/2021
A: Our Award Winning ColorSpark HTV Anything turns HTV (heat transfer vinyl) into a decal.

To use this, we recommend using a Teflon sheet rather than parchment paper to protect the decal material as well as your heatpress or Easypress. You will sandwich the HTV Anything inside a sheet of teflon. The order goes: teflon on bottom, HTV Anything material, htv, then teflon sheet on top to fully protect your decal material. You treat the HTV Anything as you would if you were pressing htv to a shirt. Press to the SHINY side and align your htv. Trim the carrier sheet of your htv close to your designs so you do not have any carrier sheet touching the edges of your HTV Anything. Cover with Teflon and press for about 8 seconds. Open your Teflon "sandwhich" and peel the carrier sheet from your htv. You can break the typical pressing rules by layering glitter htv on top of glitter htv and even rhinestones on top of glitter htv when making a decal with our HTV Anything. After you have pressed all layers, trim the HTV Anything CLOSE to the htv but do not cut right to the edge of your htv. Peel the papery backing and apply your new decal to a hard, nonporous surface. Your decal is dishwasher safe and even car wash/weather safe. Please note, HTV is not rated for extended outdoor use, so htv decals will fade in the sun over time.

Q: Do I have to seal the HTV Anything Material to make it dishwasher safe?

Asked by: TRW Customer - 2/18/2021
A: No, you do not have to seal it with anything. The adhesive we use on the back of the HTV Anything is strong enough to hold through the dishwashing cycle. Make sure the tumbler or cup is also dishwasher safe as well.

Q: What if you are using for a tumbler and you don't have a mug press?

Asked by: TRW Customer - 2/18/2021
A: That is the amazing part about the HTV Anything Material. Your tumbler or product is never exposed to any heat. You are heat pressing the t-shirt HTV directly to the HTV Anything material to make a adhesive decal. You can then apply that decal to any smooth flat surface like a tumbler or mug for your finished product.

Q: Need instructions how to cut htv anything. I have a Cricut Explore. Which side goes down on the mat, the shiny plastic looking side or matt. Do you mirror the font like you do the glitter iron on and what material setting should choose to cut on the Cricut Explore. I tried everyday iron on, it did not cut through.

Asked by: Sharon Dupree - 3/17/2021
A: The HTV Anything does not get mirrored as the adhesive is on the side next to the backing sheet, just like adhesive vinyl. You will have the SHINY side UP, just like decal material. When cutting any new material, remember there are several factors that go into getting a nice, clean cut: Life of your blade, individual machine capability as well as it's calibration, cut strip or cutting mat lifetime. With all of these factors to consider, we kindly ask all users to do test cuts before cutting a large project. We have set custom settings on our Cricut for this material, which are: 240 pressure, single cut. Please use this as a starting point to dial in proper cutting pressure depending on your blade and the other factors mentioned above.

Q: I want to use this product so bad but i have wasted an entire roll trying to figure it out. no matter what i do my adhesive is on the wrong side.

Asked by: DAWN - 4/15/2021
A: First, I apologize for any confusion you may have had trying to use your HTV Anything decal material.

There are a few rules to keep in mind when using HTV Anything:

Always press to the SHINY side.
Make sure the carrier sheet of your htv is smaller than your piece of HTV Anything. The sticky carrier can pull up the edges of your HTV Anything and ruin your decal.

For HTV Anything, you can either add a Contour (Do Not Mirror!) to your design in your software and cut the Contour with your vinyl cutter before pressing HTV to it. OR if you'd rather trim with scissors, you can press htv to the HTV Anything and trim the excess HTV Anything after it's pressed. Again, make sure your htv carrier sheet is not near the edges of your HTV Anything--you can trim your htv carrier sheet close to your design before pressing.

HTV Anything does not get mirrored when you cut it with your vinyl cutter.
The adhesive is on the back of the material and you are pressing to the shiny side, which melts a bit to help adhere your htv to this decal material. Sometimes, it may help to think of the HTV Anything as you would a shirt you're decorating with HTV. Just place the HTV Anything Shiny Side UP, align your HTV to it, cover with Teflon and press. If you are doing a single color decal, press 6-8 seconds at 300 degrees F. If you are layering htv, press the first layers 2-3 seconds, peel the htv carrier sheet, align the next layer and re-cover with Teflon and press. Final layer gets the full 6-8 dwell time. If you are layering hotfix Rhinestones on top of HTV, after the 6-8 second final press of htv, align your Rhinestones to the htv, again, making sure the sticky Acrylic Hotfix Tape is not touching the edges of your HTV Anything, and press 15 seconds at 315-320 degrees. HTV Anything and the Teflon sheet tend to hold heat and we recommend letting the transfer cool a bit before removing the Acrylic Hotfix Transfer tape, just to allow the rhinestone adhesive to cool a bit and fully adhere to the htv underneath.

Use a smooth Teflon sheet when creating decals using HTV Anything.
The HTV Anything can melt to your heated platen, Easypress or iron, so the Teflon sheet is important. If you use a textured Teflon sheet, the texture will show up in your clear HTV Anything decal material.

Our first run of HTV Anything had a protective cover sheet on it that needed to be removed prior to pressing or cutting. We found issues with the cover sheet and have had all other batches made without the cover sheet.

*Please remember, using HTV Anything allows you to 'break' some of the traditional rules of decorating that you would normally use for apparel. You can layer glitter on glitter and even hotfix rhinestones on glitter htv ONLY when using our HTV Anything (or Bling Anything) decal materials. You cannot layer these items for decorating apparel.

Q: Could explain this product? I am sorry to be vague but can you tell me how it is used ?

Asked by: Andrea - 3/23/2021
A: Of course! Our ColorSpark HTV Anything is a unique material that turns your heat applied htv into a dishwasher safe decal. You can even layer multiple colors of htv on each other and break a few of the typical pressing rules we'd use for apparel. Example: You can layer glitter htv on top of glitter htv when making a decal! You can also layer hotfix rhinestones over your glitter htv on decals.

To use the HTV Anything, you will be using a Teflon sheet and make a "teflon sandwich" when you press. Open your Teflon sheet and place it on your lower platen of your heat press. You can also use a Cricut Easypress with this material. Place your HTV Anything SHINY side up on your Teflon and align your htv on top. Trim the carrier sheet close to your design as the sticky carrier can pull up the edges of the HTV Anything. Close your 'Teflon sandwich' and press according to the pressing specs of the material you are using. You can shorten the dwell time to about 8-10 seconds. If this is your final color or layer, flip the teflon sandwich over and press an additional 5-8 seconds from the back. You are getting the heat directly to the adhesive of your htv to ensure it is well adhered to your HTV Anything deal materail. Open the teflon sandwich and carefully peel the carrier sheet. As mentioned, you can layer more colors on top of the base color of htv or even layer rhinestones on top of your htv. Please note that rhinestones cannot adhere directly to the htv anything, but need a layer of htv under them for these decals.

Asked by: Porter - 2/28/2021
A: For cups, Bling Anything will work great. If you want to use ONLY rhinestones on a design, Bling Anything is the material needed. HTV Anything is a bit less expensive because it is designed to not have the layer that will hold the rhinestones by themselves.

Q: What would cause HTV anything not to stick to my tumbler? It’s sticking but the edges peel up easily.

Asked by: Erika B - 3/9/2021
A: Is your tumbler preserved/slightly textured, by chance? In our testing, HTV Anything sticks best to smooth surfaces.

If, however, your tumbler is a smooth surface, always clean the surface with alcohol before applying decals or HTV Anything. Firmly press with your thumbs as you apply the HTV Anything, as the pressure will give you a better bond. Also, as the HTV Anything is allowed to set up, the bond becomes stronger with time.

Q: What's the difference between bling anything material and the color spark 5ft roll?

Asked by: Liana Montoya - 3/15/2021
A: Great question! While both our Bling Anything material and HTV Anything material turn heat applied materials into decals that are dishwasher safe, the main difference is what you can/should apply directly to them. The clue is found in the name of the material. With BLING Anything, you can apply hotfix rhinestones directly to it. With HTV Anything, you apply HTV to it (first). On either one, you can layer rhinestones over the top of the htv. Our HTV Anything is thinner and can have thinner htv pressed to it, but you will want to take some precautions, such as taping down your htv to help prevent any bubbling. When removing your carrier sheet, roll it off rather than pulling up vertically. Taking these precautions will help ensure any thinner materials you apply to htv anything will garner great results.

Q: I watched the video for the HTV anything and I'm trying to figure out... if you have to cut the anything vinyl first then press the other htv on it or just the press the regular htv on and once you pull it, the back will be sticky to adhere on the water bottle?

Asked by: Jonalene - 4/16/2021
A: That's a great question!

You can either create a contour of your design in your software and cut that contour in your HTV Anything. Do NOT mirror this contour. Cut HTV Anything SHINY side up. Weed off the excess. Then align your htv design, cover with Teflon and press your htv to the HTV Anything. Always make sure the sticky carrier sheet for your htv is trimmed close to your design before pressing and don't have your design too close to the edge of your HTV Anything, as the sticky carrier can pull up the edge of your decal when you remove the htv carrier.

OR

You can align your htv to the SHINY side of your HTV Anything, Cover with Teflon before pressing. Again, don't have the edge of your htv carrier near the edge of your HTV Anything. Trim the excess HTV Anything with scissors after pressing.

Press initial layers of htv 2-3 seconds at 300 degrees F. Final layer of htv press 6-8 seconds. Remember to remove the carrier sheets of your htv between layers.

Remove the Teflon sheet and after peeling the plasticy/paper backing, your decal is ready to stick to a hard, non-porous surface.

Q: I'm wondering if I can use the HTV Anything on sublimation mugs? I have a bunch of them that I want to use up. Thanks in advance!

Asked by: Karlene Abelseth - 12/12/2021
A: Hi there! Yes, you can use HTV Anything on any smooth, hard surface. While it'd even stick and wear well on car windows, htv itself isn't rated for outdoor use and would fade. But this shows how durable decals made with our HTV Anything can be!

While we have not tested it ourselves ,we have heard from customers who have even subbed directly to the HTV Anything.

From our understanding, Sublimation Mugs tend to be more pricey than regular mugs. You'll likely have less cost involved using the HTV Anything on regular mugs, but it will stick fine to your sub mugs.

Q: Can this be used with Iron on vinyl too?

Asked by: Jessi - 3/1/2021
A: Our Award Winning HTV Anything turns HTV (heat transfer vinyl) into a dishwasher safe decal. We recommend using a heatpress or Easypress to apply the htv (Iron on vinyl) to the HTV Anything. Using a teflon sheet, place your HTV Anything shiny side up on the teflon. Place your htv adhesive side down on top of the HTV Anything, making sure your carrier sheet is not near any of the edges of your HTV Anything. (The carrier sheet is sticky enough to pull up the edges of the HTV Anything when you remove the carrier.) Cover with the rest of your Teflon sheet and press. If you want to layer multiple colors of HTV for your decal, please remember to remove the carrier sheet in-between layers. ;)

Q: Is this little rhinestones you can cut an apply as HTV?

Asked by: Janice - 3/4/2021
A: HTV Anything is our decal material that turns heat transfer vinyl into a dishwasher safe decal. The only time you would use Rhinestones with this product is if you are layering hotfix rhinestones on top of your htv to create a decal. This material does not go on apparel. Our Bling Anything sheets are a different product which have 18,000 ss06 machine cut rhinestones imbedded in an adhesive backed material, which can be cut and applied to hard, non-porous surfaces. That product does not require a heat press and also is not used for apparel.

Q: Can HTV Anything be cut safely with a laser?

Asked by: Cindy Wagner - 3/13/2021
A: To safely cut HTV or similar materials with a laser, you will need HTV that is CPSIA certified. This material has not been CPSIA certified, so we do not recommend cutting it with a laser. However, ColorSpark HTV Anything cuts easily with a Cameo or Cricut or other vinyl cutter using a blade.

Asked by: chai - 3/19/2021

BLING ANYTHING can have Rhinestones presses directly to it. HTV ANYTHING turns htv into a decal. You can layer rhinestones on the htv after the htv has been pressed to the HTV ANYTHING decal material.

Q: what material setting is used when cutting htv anything on cricut maker?

Asked by: JANELLE Ramos - 3/20/2021
A: Many things can affect your cuts, ranging from blade life, mat life, calibration of your specific machine. We encourage you to do test cuts on any material, but especially for material that is new to you. For the HTV Anything on the Cricut Maker I use these custom settings in Design Space:

Cut Pressure: 240
Multi Cut: Off
Blade: Fine Point Blade

Please use these as a starting point, do a test cut and adjust up or down with the pressure to ensure your cuts are perfect.

When cutting the HTV Anything you want to create a offset or Contour of the Heat Transfer Vinyl Design to make it easier to line up correctly. I normally do about a .06" Offset with the HTV Anything

Asked by: Nikole - 3/31/2021
A: 1- You should use the light cardstock setting, for more details about recommended cut settings please see the link below.
https://www.therhinestoneworld.com/cut-settings
2- You're cutting the side with the clear plastic layer, the milky white sheet is the backing, If you peel up the corner you should notice that the clear sheet has an adhesive backing as well.
3- The pressing order is the same as pressing HTV to any garment, but pressing to the clear side of the HTV anything instead. When you're ready to apply after pressing, peel off the white backing and stick it to a smooth flat surface.

Q: Do you cut this material on mirror option? Regular htv cuts as usual on mirror? When cutting this material does the film needs to be removed prior cutting or after cutting?

Asked by: Leslie Catalanotto - 4/16/2021
A: If you are creating a Contour in your software for the HTV Anything portion, do NOT mirror the contour...think of the HTV Anything like you would decal vinyl, but you're able to press htv to it.

You will still mirror your htv design and weed as normal. When pressing, please trim your htv carrier sheet close to the design so that it does not touch the edges of your HTV Anything. The sticky carrier can pull up the edges of the HTV Anything and ruin your decal.

Our first run of HTV Anything (made in the summer of 2020) had a protective cover sheet on it that needed to be removed prior to pressing or cutting. We found issues with the cover sheet and have had all other batches made without the cover sheet.

Q: When will this be back in stock?

Asked by: Kimberly Rasmussen - 2/28/2021
A: We have an order en route and hope it will arrive soon. Unfortunately, shipping delays have caused a slight delay and we cannot guarantee the date it will be in stock at the warehouse. It's very popular and could sell out quickly, so please keep checking back to be sure you are able to order it when it is restocked.

Q: Hi. Can this be repositioned once applied to something or is it permanently adhered to an item. When applied. Also can you place this on silk screen material?

Asked by: G - 4/16/2021
A: The longer an HTV Anything decal is left to bond with whatever you apply it to, the stronger the bond will be. You can peel it off, however, the adhesive will be very compromised and likely won't adhere very well if you attempt to move it unless it's within a few seconds of applying.

HTV Anything decals need to be stuck to hard, non-porous surfaces.

Q: Does it work when you apply glitter to a tumbler can you use it as a sealer instead of epoxy. And will it make the glitter pop. Not the glitter htv

Asked by: Victoria Hollis - 4/21/2021
A: This product is meant to be used as an adhesive backing for HTV, not go on top of the HTV applied to the tumbler.

If you are looking for a protective layer for thinner vinyls, you can try our ColorSpark Vinyl Shield. Our ColorSpark Vinyl Shield cannot go on top of textured vinyls, so we would not recommend using it over glitter in lieu of epoxy.

Q: Can this be used with any HTV?

Asked by: Terri Martin - 4/22/2021
A: Yes, but we recommend a thicker vinyl such as brick or glitter so you do not have issues with wrinkling/warping, which you may experience with normal thin HTV's.

Q: Could I use this on a car or metal trailer? I'm looking for something weatherproof.

Asked by: Ashley - 4/26/2021
A: While our HTV Anything does turn htv into decals that are dishwasher safe and have stayed on car windows for years, htv is not rated for outdoor use and tends to fade within months.

We recommend you look out our ColorSpark Adhesive vinyls for outdoor use. The Permanent vinyls are rated for 3-5 years outdoors. Our ColorSpark Reflective adhesive vinyls are also rated 3-5 years outdoors, have brilliant color and a great reflective property at night when light hits them.

Asked by: Durwood - 5/1/2021

Q: Can ColorSpark htv anything be used on powder coated tumblers and still be dishwasher safe?

Asked by: Christie - 5/12/2021

Q: Do you have a tutorial or directions anywhere to use with the colorspark anything vinyl? Just bought 2 rolls and not exactly sure how to use. Are Matt's live's the only way to learn how to use?

Asked by: Michele Corner - 5/18/2021
A: We have a great Resources section at the bottom of every TRW page. Under the Frequently Asked Questions section, we have a blog titled, “I just got my HTV Anything, how do I use it?”

Q: How can I remove an HTV Anything decal from a stainless steel tumbler? I just read that rhinestones will not last if pressed directly to HTV Anything and would like to correct this on my tumblers. The adhesive on this material is so amazing that I can't simply lift it off lol

Asked by: Harumi Olivan - 6/1/2021
A: You can use a little bit of isopropyl alcohol to help loosen the adhesive, but please be aware that if there is any paint on the tumbler the alcohol may eat it away as well.

Q: When layering glitter HTV to glitter HTV, HTV anything material should be used aside from adding HTV anything material to the bottom layer to stick to a tumbler?

Asked by: Armida M Calvillo - 6/7/2021
A: When using HTV Anything, only one layer of HTV Anything is needed and it will be your bottom layer. This is the material that turns your heat transfer vinyl into a decal that is dishwasher safe. The only time you should layer anything on top of glitter htv is when using our HTV Anything decal material as the bottom layer to stick your decal on a smooth, non-porous surface.

Q: Can this be used for a car decal and then use vinyl shield over it?

Asked by: DEBI MEADOWS - 6/17/2021
A: It depends on the type of vinyl you apply to HTV Anything, most commonly is Siser Glitter HTV. Which you may not want to apply vinyl shield to, as the textured surface would cause vinyl shield to have a hard time applying.

Q: So I used this as the directions state but my HTV bubbled on top of the HTV Anything. Why would this happen? How can I fix it? Thanks for you help!

Asked by: Rebecca Gueorguiev - 8/7/2021
A: Bubbling can happen, especially with thinner vinyls such as easyweed, but here are a few things you can do to help prevent it. Press at a lower temperature, most vinyls press around 305F, so we recommend about 285F. Now after applying the vinyl, do not just pull up like you normally would to remove the HTV as this force can cause bubbling. Instead flip the decal over after pressing (transfer sheet facing down) and roll the HTV/HTV Anything off of the transfer sheet. If you need further assistance or have any questions please feel free to reach out to our customer service team via the info below.

I tried to purchase a roll today (and to take advantage of the free rhinestone offer) but I was not able to checkout with the Priority Mail option, most likely because of the weight of the roll. Q: What is the difference between this and the Vinyl Shield? It seems to me that they serve the same purpose. When/why would I choose one over the other?

Asked by: Gretchen Mitchell - 9/14/2021
A: They're actually very different! The Colorspark HTV Anything turns your HTV into a sticker. You would press your HTV to this material with heat (HTV on top, HTV Anything on bottom), and voila! You have your sticker. The Vinyl Shield goes over the top of your vinyl, acting as a shield, protecting it from scratches. We recommend the use of the product on dishwasher items, holographic vinyl, opal, and metallics.

A: Always press to the SHINY side of HTV Anything. Keep your htv carrier away from the edges of the HTV Anything, as the sticky carrier can accidentally pull up the edge.

Q: Is this the transfer tape to be used when reverse weeding a design for a t shirt?

Asked by: Evelyn Tranbarger - 11/30/2021
A: Zero transfer tape is needed for HTV on shirts. You cut glossy side down with a mirrored image, then weed from the carrier that it's already on. Turn it over, glossy side up and place to the shirt then press.

Q: I'm trying to do really small designs for coffee cups but it doesn't weed well at all. Any suggestions on how you use this for small designs??

Asked by: Ariel Jewell - 12/2/2021
A: As with any material you are cutting, we advise doing test cuts, to ensure your cut specs are dialed in properly. If your vinyl cutter has the option for a slower cut, that helps with getting details to cut well.

You may have a challenge aligning your weeded htv to our HTV Anything if they are tiny decals. A light board can help with that, but remember the Carrier sheet can’t be anywhere near the edges of your decal, as the sticky carrier can pull the edges up, creating wrinkles or bubbles.

One suggestion would be to press your htv Design to the HTV Anything and trim around the design with scissors after the decal has been pressed.

Q: Will htv anything stick to and acrylic rubber matte cup?

Asked by: Veronica Ceniceros - 12/16/2021
A: When it comes to items HTV Anything will stick to, think of your HTV Anything the way you would a sticker. If a sticker would have a tough time sticking to a surface, your HTV Anything will also have a difficult time sticking. The properties of rubber and silicone materials and the way they are made makes any adhesive difficult to stick to them.

Q: what's the difference between bling anything and htv anything, thanks

Asked by: cheryl a davis - 1/4/2022
A: Great question!
Bling Anything is our original decal material which turns heat applied materials into a decal or sticker. You can press either hotfix rhinestones directly to it or htv to it and even layer rhinestones on top of the htv.

HTV Anything is our newer decal material which is a bit thinner than Bling Anything as it lacks the extra layer which allows hotfix rhinestones to be pressed directly to it. You must press htv to it first and if you'd like to layer rhinestones on top of the htv, you can do that.

The name of the material lets you know what can be pressed directly to it. ;)
Bling Anything can take rhinestone directly pressed to it.
HTV Anything must have htv as the first layer pressed to it.

Decals made with either Bling Anything or HTV Anything can go through the dishwasher. They also can last on car windows, but htv is not rated for outdoor use and will fade quickly in the sun.

Q: Is this clear enough to use on wine glasses. I sure it will stick just fine. Just worried about a hazy look.

Asked by: Cheryl - 1/7/2022
A: Yes, this is clear enough for wine glasses or car windows. Be sure to have your design away from the edge of the HTV Anything when you press it, as the carrier sheet from the htv can pull up the edge causing bubbles. We typically just trim close with a pair of scissors after pressing.
OR if we create a contour of the design first, we trim the htv carrier super close to the design before pressing. :)
Just so you know, Glitter htv can leave little glitter flakes in the open areas of the HTV Anything if you have a design with large open spaces between your htv.

Q: I just bought a couple of rolls and I'm so lost in how to use HTV anything. First of all what pressure should I cut it at... I've wasted a bunch and haven't figured it out yet. I don't feel like I'm putting the layers together the right way. Should I be able to feel the glitter? or should the HTV anything be the final top layer. I have watched all of the videos I can find but some really basic steps are assumed and this is not an intuitive material to use. Please help!!!

Asked by: Laura - 1/8/2022
A: Check the product on site under the tab Application Instructions found here: https://www.therhinestoneworld.com/colorspark-htv-anything

Please note these are recommended cut settings, we strongly suggest always making a test cut to ensure these cut settings work for you and your cutter. Setting can vary based on blade life, equipment, and material.
Silhouette Cameo 3, Cameo 4, and Cameo 4 Pro:
Blade depth: 3
Force: 20
Spped: 10
Passes: 1
Cricut Maker: 272
Circut Explore: Light cardstock

As for the layer order, yes, the HTV Anything will be your very back layer. To create a decal the HTV Anything is the sticky backed layer that will adhere to your tumbler so you'll layer HTV on top of that and press.
Offset your name, make the largest (back) layer the HTV Anything. Cut the name without the offset (mirror for HTV), this skinnier layer is your top layer with just HTV. Weed both, put the HTV on top of the HTV Anything, press.
Here's a great short video on the layer process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRr2rmwgw7s

Q: I need to put a logo on cups for a customer. The logo is basically a square with a triangle cut out and the company name inside the square under the triangle. If I use HTV anywhere would I need to weed out the triangle and letters before applying the HTV? Or could I just cut a square? If I can just cut a square what would the voids look like? Would the color of the cup show through or would the then be a "sticky" area exposed? I hope I am explaining this well enough for you to be able to answer. Thanks for you help!

Asked by: Lisa - 1/8/2022
A: HTV Anything is clear. Anything you leave exposed will show the background through, including the void. Hope that helps!

Q: Hi, I was wondering if I could use this for faux leather that I would then attach to fabric? Thank you.

Asked by: glamheart - 1/31/2022
A: HTV Anything turns your HTV into a sticker essentially, so I wouldn't recommend it! The adhesive backing on this material wouldn't stick to your fabric long-term, as it is not a smooth, flat, nonporous surface.

Q: Is this the clear piece that's needed to place on the stones and then put it on the shirt to be heat presses

Asked by: Angie - 3/3/2022
A: Nope! This decal material turns your HTV into a sticker essentially! To press vinyl to a shirt, you'd want to use only hTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl). For this product, you'd press your HTV to the HTV Anything and then adhere it to any smooth, flat surface (a cup, car window, laptop, etc.)!

Q: Is this only for glitter, was hoping it would work with HTV holograph and other materials. Thank you

Asked by: Bonie - 3/18/2022
A: You can certainly use it with other HTV material types. Be warned though, a few kinds such as opal and some holographics will not behave well with pressing stones over it. The stones will flick off. We don't have a product list of materials it misbehaves with but we've just experimented here and there on our own. :-)

Q: Can you use the htv anything on crocs shoes?

Asked by: Lisa - 5/18/2022
A: We haven't test this, but when it comes to items HTV Anything will stick to, think of your HTV Anything the way you would a sticker. If a sticker would have a tough time sticking to a surface, your HTV Anything will also have a difficult time sticking. The properties of rubber and silicone materials and the way they are made makes any adhesive difficult to stick to them.

Asked by: Natasha Bartholomew - 7/17/2022
A: Matt has used our ColorSpark Application Tape - Super High Tack Textured Glitter Black Grid to help pick up the individual letters to apply to a tumbler. But what he does more often than not is have the HTV Anything layer have a larger enough contour that the individual letters touch on that layer.

Q: Can you use htv anything on fabric?

Asked by: Dena - 8/26/2022
A: No.
You can just press HTV directly to fabric.
The point of HTV Anything is to create pretty HTV into a decal. The HTV Anything is sticky backed and needs to be your bottom (back) layer.

Q: Does it has to be glitter HTV or a regular HTV will work?

Asked by: MMM - 9/5/2022
A: The ColorSpark HTV Anything can have other, thinner htv pressed to it. However, be very careful when pressing thin htv to this product as you don't want bubbles to appear. We recommend flipping the entire htv decal over and rolling the decal off of the htv carrier sheet after pressing and allowing the decal to cool a bit.

Q: i guess, there is no way to make adhesive vinyl into htv? i ordered a huge roll of holographic ¨(unicorn) vinyl sticker! by mistake... their name had HTV in it, so i assumed its gonna be htv.. and the price was fantastic.. now i know why lol unless im gonna decal bomb my moms infinity, i dont need 12 feet of this.. and we dont reallu have clear glasses tat i can use for stickers. not putting it on our crystal lol so, yeah , theres no way to make it htv, eh?

Asked by: julia - 9/12/2022
A: Unfortuntely, no, there is no way to turn Adhesive vinyl, which is basically a large sheet of sticker material, into heat transfer vinyl for shirts. Think of those stickers dentists and pediatricians give out to kids. They really don't stick to kids shirts very well but they will definitely stick to the dining table or windows when they get home. ;)

If you have several feet of Unicorn Adhesive Vinyl, I'd recommend offering to make custom names and sticker shapes for kids water bottles. We've seen many businesses make a great profit making custom decals for tumblers and waterbottles. Hope this helps!

Q: Where can I find the Graphtec cut settings for HTV Anything?

Asked by: Marcia's Creations - Marcia Hiltabidle - 9/19/2022
A: I always start with the specs I use for Adhesive Vinyl or Easyweed and do a test with my Graphtec (you can click the Test Cut left arrow before sending the design to your cutter). If I'm using an older blade or if my cut strip has any grooves in it, I find that I sometimes need to slightly bump up the pressure that I use for Easyeweed.

Q: What are all the products you use for regular window decals and order you use them? And the same with your rhinestones thanks in advance ElevateArtistry.

Asked by: Alisa Brown-Massie - 9/25/2022
A: Regular window decals - Permanent Adhesive vinyl.
Rhinestone decals - We have kits on site as well, but materials are ss10 hotfix, a design, magic flock, acrylic hotfix heat tape, Bling Anything, heat press.
We have thousands of youtube tutorials covering all of this as well for more in depth learning.
Bling Anything bottom layer. After brushed stones into flock, lift with hotfix tape, place on bling anything, cover with protective cover sheet, press.
The material you're inquiring under is HTV Anything, this is different.
Do not use these decals for vehicles, the uv will fade the htv very quickly.
We have kits of this as well.
Bottom layer htv anything. Apply htv. Apply rhinestones. Now it's ready to place on a tumbler, laptop, etc.

Q: Hello. I'm using a Roland GS-24 vinyl cutter. What pressure do you recommend for this? I also purchased some of the Vinyl Shield. Please advise on what pressure to use for cutting it. Thank you

Asked by: Vicki - 9/28/2022
A: We recommend performing test cuts.
Each machine differs, even if they're the exact same machine. They're not built with extreme precision, but instead mass produced, so there's always variables that can jam up a written cut spec chart.
Blade age, machine age, belt tensions and wear, and so forth all come into play.
Helpful tip from a multi machine owner - keep a log. I like to write down each machines preferred settings once I've ran through test cuts on new materials. This saves time and money as you grow.

Q: Can your htv anything be used with easy subli sublimation vinyl to make a full color car decal? Would I need to apply an uv protectant spray?

Asked by: sheri - 10/25/2022
A: While you CAN make a decal using our HTV Anything and Siser's Easy Subli, we would not recommend it for a car decal. The sun will fade the sublimation ink fairly quickly. For making decals for tumblers, cell phones or laptops--go for it! The inks are not UV tolerant and the UV Protective sprays we've tested on other htv doesn't make them last more than a few months outdoors. Your best bet for printed outdoor decals is to outsource to someone who uses an ecosolvent printer, such as the Versacam. You can order printed decals from our site through the Estimate link under Adhesive Vinyl. :)

Q: Can I use the HTV anything with printable tshirt transfers?

Asked by: Amanda Steele - 3/10/2023
A: No, HTV Anything is to turn heat transfer vinyl into a sticker or decal. Please do not use it on apparel. These decals are great for laptops, tumblers and other smooth, hard surfaces. Since htv is not rated for continuous outdoor use, please do not use these decals for car windows, as the htv will fade in the sun.

Q: Can you use glitter htv plus sublimation plus htv anything to make a skinny tumbler? If so what order would you do it since sublimation takes a higher temp and longer pressing time.

Asked by: Monica Sinclair - 4/10/2023
A: You can and you'd actually have a few different options.

If you are using a sublimation tumbler, you can sub it first. Then, press your htv to the HTV Anything. After your tumbler is cool, you can apply your decal or wrap to the tumbler.

While we don't have sublimation here to test things out, you'd be able to sub your glitter htv. Then, press that to the HTV Anything.

Another option that we have not tested, but we've seen many of our TRW Crew have subbed the HTV Anything material itself! You'd need to test temperature and dwell time to get the colors you want to use dialed in properly. Then, add htv on top of the HTV Anything. Peel the paper backing and apply to your tumbler.

Q: I am using HTV Anything to apply hotfix crystals to my tumblers. My issue is the crystals are not secure. They are coming off. If the crystals have an application temperature of 350 for 15s, will that damage the HTV anything or the glitter vinyl layers? The final results are beautiful but not yet sturdy enough for me to feel comfortable enough to sell. I am only heating the layers at 315 per the instructions i received with the HTV Anything. What can I do?

Asked by: Renita Vega - 4/17/2023
A: A few tips: None of our hotfix rhinestones have an application temperature of 350 degrees F--you very well may be "over cooking" the heat activated adhesive on the rhinestones. For ss06 and ss10 rhinestones, we recommend 325 degrees F for 15 seconds with medium/firm pressure. Pressing hotter or longer damages the adhesive.
Larger rhinestones require a slight temperature increase, as they have a larger profile and you need to get the heat all the way through the rhinestone to activate that adhesive.

Also, just to clarify, do not press rhinestones directly to HTV Anything. They will not stay on, as there is not a layer in the HTV Anything to secure the hotfix rhinestones. If you ever want to create wraps or decals with just hotfix rhinestones, you'll need to use our Bling Anything decal material.

The HTV Anything and glitter htv tend to hold onto heat quite a bit. Allow your wrap to cool slightly before removing the hotfix tape, so the heat-activated adhesive has a chance to re-solidify first.

We also do what we call an "insurance press", where we flip the entire wrap over and press for about 5-8 seconds from the back, to be sure the rhinestones are well adhered to the glitter htv layer.

Hope these tips help! If you are still having issues, please feel free to email our service reps at [email protected]

Thanks!

Q: Once applied to a non-porous substrate, will it be dishwasher safe or only hand washable?

Asked by: Estelle Combs - 4/26/2023
A: As long as whatever surface you applied the ColorSpark HTV Anything to is dishwasher safe, your HTV Anything decal will be dishwasher safe.

Example: don't put your laptop with an htv anything decal on it in the dishwasher. Or if you have a tumbler that reads, "Hand wash only" on the bottom, you still need to hand wash it, although the HTV Anything decal itself would be dishwasher safe in the dishwasher.

Q: I'm making helmet decals and the decals are falling off like crazy. I made them for a team with the brick HTV. Its embarassing because I'm selling them. Please help me. Thanks

Asked by: Leslie Helton - 4/26/2023
A: Hi there!

Oh no--I'm sorry you're having issues with your decals. If the htv itself is falling off of the HTV Anything, you're not getting enough heat down to the heat-activated adhesive on the back of the htv to get a good bond.

If the HTV Anything is coming off of helmets, I'd think it's because the Brick htv is thicker, which means it's easier to get caught on impact on a helmet during an active sport.

On helmets, we typically use ColorSpark Vinyl Shield over the top of printed adhesive decals, as shown in this YouTube video at around the 6 minute mark: https://youtu.be/XpgabjPsVZE

Q: I do machine embroidery and make patches. I've been asked to make patches that can "stick" onto a cowboy hat. I'm wondering if I can heat press my embroidered patches to the htv anything to use in that way.

Asked by: Carla Blair - 5/4/2023
A: Hi there!
I understand what you're wanting to do, but you'd need a different material than HTV Anything. HTV Anything won't stick to fabric or textured surfaces. HTV Anything is used for smooth, hard surfaces, like tumblers or laptops. Also, HTV Anything turns heat-applied vinyl into a decal--you definitely need the heat activated adhesive of the htv to bond with the surface of the HTV Anything.

You COULD use Siser Easyweed Adhesive to press your patches to and heat apply those to cowboy hats. We've seen some great patches on trucker hats using this method. Think of the Easyweed Adhesive like a big, thin glue sheet that activates with heat. With Easyweed adhesive, you can either press a large piece to the back of your patches and trim afterwards, sealing the edges of the patch after trimming. Or if you want to cut the Easyweed Adhesive to the outside boundary of the patch, you'll mirror your design and weed out the excess material before tack pressing to the patch then peel the protective carrier sheet and press the patch to the hat.
This would be an excellent idea for us to make a tutorial video--thanks for bringing up the question!

Q: For HTV Anything, can I use UV DTF like HTV & apply it with your Heavy Duty Application Tape to make it dishwasher safe?

A: HTV Anything is our Award Winning decal material, which turns heat transfer vinyl into a decal or sticker.

We've made the HTV Anything so clear and thin, you are able to press multiple types of htv to it and we've even tested plastisol transfers using it. This introductory video goes over some of the materials we've used with it and shows how the finished product turned out: https://youtu.be/sdWaEmQDJtY
Unfortunately, links in our Q&A are not clickable, so please copy and paste the link to a new browser.

We have not tested DTF with the HTV Anything, so we can't say how that would turn out. If you decide to test it, just remember a couple of things: Trim the DTF carrier close to the image before pressing and do not have the carrier touch the edge of the HTV Anything.

You also would not use any kind of app tape with HTV Anything. The HTV Anything has a strong adhesive on the back, so after pressing your htv (or testing the DTF), simply trim your decal close to the image, peel the protective cover sheet from the back of the HTV Anything and stick your decal to a smooth, hard surface.

The only time we have used app tape with the HTV Anything was when the decal we were making had elements that were not touching, so they were separate design elements and we used our app tape to hold the decal together after we peeled the HTV Anything backing sheet away. We used this to apply the name to a tumbler, then carefully removed the app tape. Since DTF uses specialty inks, it's difficult to say if the inks would be peeled up with app tape, in trying a decal like this.

Q: There are conflicting answers regarding sublimating on HTV Anything. One answer says no, another says people have subbed onto it. Which is correct?

Asked by: Dave P - 5/21/2023
A: I apologize for the conflicting answers. We don't use sublimation printers here, so we don't have a way to test it out in our warehouse.

We have a group on Facebook, named "Crafting with Rhinestones and Vinyl hosted by the TRW Crew", which has over 23,000 members. Some time after we'd created the HTV Anything, some of the members in the group started trying to sub onto HTV Anything, with wonderful results. That's when we started stating that yes, we've seen HTV Anything being subbed to.
I hope this information helps. And if you'd like to join the group on facebook, you can copy/paste this URL: https://www.facebook.com/groups/592565454142124

Q: I have some that is 2 years old. Forgot I had it, went to cut and it won't cut. I have got my blade to 6 and force to 17 and still won't cut , Is this because of its age or what. I'm very disappointed . I have a fair bit and it is kind of useless now. Can you help me out here. Thankyou

Asked by: Wendy Christoffersen - 5/27/2023
A: There's a few things it could be. Since it's two years old, and we're not certain of how it's been cared for it's a little hard to troubleshoot. Was it cutting fine before? Is there a carrier sheet like some of our very old materials used to have? Was it stored in heat, or a climate controlled environment? Vinyl does have a shelf life, but one of our employees also has some that's a few years old and it's still cutting fine. Have you checked your blade to see if the tip is broken, and is it an old blade? Have you checked the cutting strip on your machine to be sure it's not damaged as well, this can also hinder cutting performance.

Q: I made a mistake and my HTV anything and vinyl shield got mixed up, do you have tips to tell them apart?

Asked by: Rae - 6/9/2023
A: Vinyl shield will be more clear than the HTV Anything. You can also peel a corner of both and see which has an adhesive and that would be the shield. I like to take my labels from the rolls and place them inside the cores as soon as I get them.

Q: Can this be cut with a laser cutter?

Asked by: Qawana Butler - 6/22/2023
A: Vinyl, one of the most widely used plastics, produces harmful fumes when burnt. Although it is an easy material to be laser-cut, laser-cutting vinyl is considered unsafe. It produces toxic chlorine gas and hydrochloric acid, which can be hazardous to the operator and also cause damage to the laser cutter.

Q: I know the product is HTV (heat transfer vinyl) anything, but can regular vinyl be used with htv anything? I’m thinking of the dishwasher friendly property that you gain with htv anything.

Asked by: Mary B - 8/7/2023
A: Unfortunately, you cannot use adhesive vinyl with HTV Anything, because the HTV Anything has a layer that bonds to the HTV when it is pressed.
However--we have a different awesome product that you can use with Adhesive vinyl to protect it. Our ColorSpark Vinyl Shield is a clear, mask-like material that goes over the top of your adhesive vinyl, which protects the vinyl from scratches, lifting and even the dishwasher. The ColorSpark Vinyl Shield also has a UV protectant built in, to help keep your decals from fading in the sun.

Q: I am confused on difference between the Bling Anything vs the HTV Anything. I was to put Rhinestones on 20oz metal tumblers. Please advise the differences and what each would be best used on.

Asked by: Sandy Dennis - 8/24/2023
A: ColorSpark Bling Anything and HTV Anything are very similar in that they turn heat applied materials into a decal, sticker or tumbler wrap. The key to knowing which to use is in the name of the product. If you are pressing Rhinestones Only (bling) then use Bling Anything. It is the only product that can turn hotfix rhinestones into a decal.
If you are using htv as the first thing that you press to these materials, technically, you could use either, but we created HTV Anything to turn htv into the decals or wraps. HTV Anything is thinner than Bling Anything, so you can actually press thinner htv to it and get good results.
Being able to break the typical pressing 'rules' and layer glitter on top of glitter or rhinestones on top of glitter is just one of the benefits to using these materials.

Q: Will this work on silicone travel containers? Or is there another product you’d suggest that will stick to a silicone travel bottle?

Asked by: AK - 9/30/2023
A: Nothing comes to mind that will stick to silicone. Even silicone that's had epoxy on it, will still not stick and pop right off. You may have a little luck sanding only the area that it will be applied to give it some grip, but we still can't guarantee it will cooperate with silicone.

Q: Can stickers/decals made with HTV Anything be used on shoes, handbags, and/or ball caps?

Asked by: iym413 - 10/28/2023
A: The decals made with ColorSpark HTV Anything are meant to go on smooth, hard surfaces with no flex to the surface. Think of the decals the way you would a regular sticker. If a regular sticker would not stick to the surface, a decal made with HTV Anything will not stick.

Q: I bought 2 rolls of htv anything, 1 roll was marked and had a smooth backing the other was unmarked and has a bumpy backing. I used the one that was marked as htv anything on my rhinestone tumbler and the vinyl can be peeled off , am I doing something wrong? The glitter htv is on real good and the rhinestones are on the glitter vinyl good but the whole works can be peeled off in one solid sheet, help?

Asked by: Leslie Hannahan - 2/13/2024
A: Hi there! We pulled up your order to check which materials were ordered. You'd only ordered one roll of HTV Anything. The other roll of white material that you'd ordered is the 15 feet of Acrylic Hotfix transfer tape. The textured white backing is the easiest way to identify it. This tape is heat resistant and used to lift the rhinestones from the blue Magic Flock template.
As for the HTV Anything wrap, the tumbler you put it on needs to be smooth and not textured. We've also found adding a thin bead of Supertite Adhesives Fusion Tack glue under the seam, then securing the tumbler and wrap with pony-O's overnight while the glue cures has been incredibly helpful in securing the wrap and the seams.

Q: Is this safe to use on skin as a temporary sticker. To make a glittery letters for team sport.

Asked by: MJ - 2/28/2024
A: We can't commit to if it were safe or not as it's not intended for that use and we haven't tested that. Also keep in mind skin irritation and allergies with various people.
If you were to try to body wear the material, it would act like regular adhesive vinyl. The adhesive is meant for smooth clean surfaces that stay smooth and clean. I would gather that these would fall off in minutes between moving and or any sweat or skin oils making the adhesive fail.

Q: The TRW search function is not active. I am looking for glossy black HTV. Can you provide a link to your glossy HTV products for me?

Asked by: Cindy - 3/13/2024
A: Hi there! Can we ask which browser you are using? The site doesn't work well with Firefox, if that may be the issue.

For Heat Transfer Vinyl, we offer several different types: Siser Easyweed - a bit shinier than other htv. But it's not faux pleather shiny. We also have glitters that may be of interest to you. The ColorSpark Reflective Glitter and Siser Twinkle both are reflective glitters which are smooth to touch--with a glossy finish and light up with ambient light. These woul be the most shiny htv's we'd offer. If you have other questions, please feel free to email us at [email protected] or reach out to us on social media.

Q: Can you use this material on a glass Tumblr and can you use it on a stainless steel Tumblr?

Asked by: Kat - 4/6/2024
A: Our ColorSpark HTV Anything turns heat applied vinyl into a decal or wrap. It works best on smooth, hard surfaces. We have successfully used HTV Anything on both Glass and Stainless Steel tumblers and glasses.

Be sure to clean the surface with an alcohol wipe before applying the decal or wrap. When we make tumbler wraps, we add a bead of Supertite Adhesives Fusion Tack under the seams and secure with ponytail holders until the adhesive cures. This ensures the wrap doesn't lift with use.

Q: Will HTV Anything work on wood?

Asked by: Rachael Stapleton - 5/8/2024
A: HTV Anything is meant for smooth, hard surfaces. We have not tested our HTV Anything decals on wood, but it does not seem that a decal would adhere well on wood.

Q: Is htv anything weather resistant? Can I use to make car decals?

Asked by: Rebeca Olivares - 5/24/2024
A: Hi there!

While the HTV Anything would be able to weather the elements, heat transfer vinyl itself is not rated for continuous outdoor use and the htv will fade.

We used to use glitter htv and HTV Anything for decals, but with how quickly htv fades in the sun, we've stepped away from creating these types of decals.

Q: I want to make car decals. Can I use any HTV or is there a specific type that is best to use for car decals?

Asked by: melanie oneal - 7/8/2024
A: Great question!
If you experiment a touch, any htv will work. The issue is thinner htv will bubble since it doesn't have that "breathe through" that fabric gives it with being pressed to HTV Anything. So you'll need to adjust your time / pressure / temp a touch to find that sweet spot for the thinner htv to better cooperate. This is often why in our videos and live trainings you'll see us use glitter htv as it's thicker. We prefer glitter, but with a lighter hand other htv will work as well.

Asked by: Angela - 9/15/2024
A: You can make window decals using HTV and HTV Anything, however since htv is not rated or created for continuous UV exposure, the htv will start to fade quickly in the sun.
