Q:this item is an OTF file. What does that mean? Can I use it on Cricut design space? It says it's an unsupported file type.
Asked by: Evelin Cameron
- 3/16/2021
A: This is an Open Type font (otf) so rather than trying to upload it as a design or svg in Design Space, you'll use it as a regular font. In DS, go to your Font Menu and choose SYSTEM FONTS to select this free Clean Stone font. Type your text and change the font point size in the Cricut menu or toolbar on top, For this font, please use the following point sizes for these size rhinestones: ss06 206pt ss10 272pt ss16 337pt and ss20 426pt

Q:What do you mean when you say point 272? i watched the youtube video when Matt used the font and the measurements he gave was 0.135 for the ss10 and i tried but it came out too small.
Asked by: Felisha Howell
- 3/19/2021
A: When you create a rhinestone design, ss10 stones need holes that are .135” in diameter so that the stones may fall into the template properly. Different rhinestone fonts will have different font point sizes to create the holes which measure .135” in diameter. When we type documents, typically Microsoft word (or other programs) default to Times New Roman font point 10 or 12. For this Free Rhinestone Clean Font, putting 272 as your font point size will give you Holes that are .135” in diameter.

Q:hello how do i get the font downloaded in the cricut design space?
Asked by: airess hammond
- 4/21/2021
A: Hi there! You can add this free rhinestone font to your cart on our site, go through the Checkout making sure you click Free Shipping and No Payment Necessary. Then go to the MY ACCOUNT page. Near the top left is the My Orders link. That will take you to the Download of the font.
After the font is downloaded, go to your Downloads folder on your computer and double click the font. Your computer will open a window asking if you'd like to Print or Install...click Install and follow any prompts to install the font to your computer.
If you had Design Space open prior to installing, you'll need to close out and reopen Design Space. When you click the Text option, in the upper toolbar you can search "System fonts" rather than Cricut or All. This pulls up only the fonts you have installed on your computer. You can type CLEAN in the search field to pull up this font. Be sure to use these font point sizes so the text you type is sized perfectly to fit the rhinestones you're using:
ss6 Point Size: 206 ss10 Point Size: 272 ss16 Point Size: 337 ss20 Point Size: 426

Q:Is this font only for big designs? I would like to use it for masks and pouches. When i resize it to fit, it changes the font size. Is there a different font I could use instead?
Asked by: Corrie Martinez
- 3/29/2021
A: This font, even sized for ss06 rhinestones is still fairly large measuring nearly 2" tall. I'd recommend this for tote bags (beach sized) or shirts. For masks or smaller pouches, we have the TRW 130 Super Small, TRW 00 Mega Small, TRW 238 Headband font.
There are several other smaller fonts that may work. If you click the DESIGNS menu, then scroll down to FONTS and click Rhinestone Fonts, you will see a huge selection of rhinestone fonts. You can filter by rhinestone height (it assumes you are using ss10 rhinestones). Remember, you can always change the stone size to change the overall size of your text or design a bit.

Q:For Cricut Users, what are the diameters recommend sizing the font for ss6, ss16 ss20.. I read through the other answers found the .135 works great for the ss10
Q:How would I go about making a template so the individual letter/number is individually cut out in like a square so I could just peel the letter off and make a number? Using Design Space if it matters. Thanks!
Asked by: Colleen Cook
- 4/26/2021
A: This free font does not come with an SF version, which stands for Sticky Flock, our old name for Magic Flock. The SF versions of fonts have the individual letters or numbers in their own box so you can cut out the entire alphabet then create words without needing to cut names for each customer.
To create the individual boxes in Design Space, you can type out the alphabet, use the Shape Tool in Design Space to create a box, unlock it and stretch it to be a rectangle. You'll need to duplicate the box for each letter--Design Space tends to freeze up with so many objects on the screen, so we suggest only doing a few letters at a time. You'll want to note the box size, so you have uniform templates. Center Align the box over a letter (we like to send the box to the back layer so we can see the letter), select the letter and the box and hit SLICE. Delete the original letter, original box and only keep the box with the SLICE RESULT. It will look like a box with holes punched through it.
When cutting, you need to use the Contour button in Design Space to make sure the holes are sized properly for the rhinestones you're using. We use .135" for ss10 rhinestones. We have videos showing how to first Weld your template, then use Contour to hide all objects, then show just one dot. Size that dot to .135", go back to Contour and click Show All. Your template will now be properly sized for ss10 rhinestones.

Q:Everytime i go to make the cut for my rhinestone on the cleanstone font its either too big or too small what am i doing wrong?
Asked by: ozella
- 5/17/2022
A: When cutting a rhinestone design or font, the most important thing to remember is that the holes need to be properly sized so that the stones fall into the template as you brush them in.
For this font, please use the following point sizes, found on the Product Features tab: ss6 Point Size: 206 ss10 Point Size: 272 ss16 Point Size: 337 ss20 Point Size: 426
The Exception to the above point sizing is Cricut's Design Space. That software tends to skew the sizing for the fonts. If using Design space, please type your text, Weld the word, then go to your Layers panel and click on the Contour button. Click Hide all contours and all but a single dot will be hidden. Close that pop up window, resize your dot to .135" if using ss10 rhinestones. Since you welded the dots before hiding them, this resizes all of the dots to .135". Click the Conour button again, click Show All contours, close that pop up window and your text will be perfectly sized for ss10 rhinestones.
We like to use the Shapes Tool and draw a rectangle around the text to create a weed box. Select the rectangle, the text and click Slice. Delete the copies and keep just the rectangle that has the holes sliced out of it.
You are now ready to cut your template.

Q:hello I would like to know how do you change the stone size in circuit? Example 10ss and 12ss
Asked by: Tonya Flood
- 3/15/2021
A: Hi there! For our TTF (True Type Fonts), you can easily just change your Font point size in whatever software you are using. For this particular font, ss10 has a point size of 272. TRW doesn't sell ss12 rhinestones, so I'm sorry I do not have a font point size for that size stone. However, ss16 we would recommend a font point size of 337 in this font.

Asked by: Belinda Zanercik
- 8/17/2021
A: After downloading the file please make sure to right click it and select "Install For All Users". After doing that the font should appear under "TRW Clean Stone" in Silhouette Studio's font area. If you need further assistance please feel free to reach out to our customer support department via the info below.
Q:TRW Clean Stone FREE- when we when to use this font, is resizing necessary to use for SS10? Or is this font automatically set up for SS 10. Thanks
Asked by: Talaya Jones
- 12/27/2021
A: Please use the font point size we list on our rhinestone fonts so they’re properly sized for your rhinestones.
This Font has these font point sizes: ss6 Point Size: 206 ss10 Point Size: 272 ss16 Point Size: 337 ss20 Point Size: 426
The situation that will be different is for our Cricut users. Cricut has made an update so rather than using the font point size that works in all other software, you will need to file our tutorial to weld the text. Then use the Contour button to hide all but one some, resize that to.135” for ss10 and then under all stones.
We do have this tutorial on our YouTube channel, to help gif our Cricut users. Thanks!

Q:After I resize the circles in contour, it resizes my whole text. How do I keep my text the same size and just resize the circles?
Asked by: Trischelle Campbell
- 7/5/2021
A: Unfortunately you cannot keep a specific text size when resizing the stone sizes, attempting to adjust the sizing (ex: making it taller/wider) after setting the stone size will result in oval/misshapen circles.

As this is a True Type font, you'll see the installer download. Click that and there will be a tiny Install button in the upper left hand corner. This will install the font to your computer.
To use the font, close out of the software you use for your vinyl cutter and reopen it. This allows the software to recognize the newly installed font. Select the font in your software's text panel or window.
Rhinestone fonts are not like fonts you'd use with vinyl...you can't stretch or shrink them to be whatever size you are wanting, as the holes need to be able to fit the rhinestones properly. Please use the font point sizing on the Product Features tab to size our rhinestone true type fonts.

Q:I'm looking to put pet names on dog leashes with rhinestones using 16 to 20 sized stones. What font do you recommend? The orientation is vertical and I can't go any wider than 3/4". Thank you for your help.
Asked by: Elizabeth Hoffmann
- 10/11/2022
A: We have our rhinestone fonts organized by height. Generally speaking, the taller the font, the larger it will be overall. The sizing on our site is also set for ss10 rhinestones, which are considerably smaller than ss16 or ss20. With that in mind, we'd recommend looking at one of our smaller rhinestone fonts, since using larger stones makes the entire word or name larger.
TRW 00 Mega Small appears to be slightly under 3/4" when letters are stacked vertically and using ss16 rhinestones.

A: We just tested this to be sure - you'll only need to set up an account, no code needed. To access the free font, it will need a place to be installed from. Make an account, add to cart and checkout as normal with the amount being zero. Then go back into your account (sign in again) and the download will be there under my account, items.

Once the font is installed, open Design Space. Type your text, then click the Text dropdown box at the top toolbar in Design Space. Select SYSTEM Fonts. All of our fonts start with TRW. Scroll to TRW Clean Stone and your text will be converted to the dots for rhinestones.

Q:I love the names in rhinestone that the Clean Stone ttfont makes, but how do you get the holes to be SS10 size in Business Edition svgs that are sent to the Graphtec CE-7000-60 cutter? The holes are really small.
Asked by: Carolyn M Daniels
- 4/20/2023
A: We add the font point size that you'd use in all software other than Cricut's Design Space on the Specifications tab: ss6 Point Size: 206 ss10 Point Size: 272 ss16 Point Size: 337 ss20 Point Size: 426
For ss10 stones, change the font point to 272 in Silhouette.
For our Cricut users, we created this tutorial to show how to weld the text, then use the contour button to temp hide all but one dot and resize that dot to correspond to the rhinestone size you'd be using: https://youtu.be/XyYrJFH0Epg

A: Our designs and fonts are downloads, meaning you can go to your My Account page, then click on either My Items or My Orders. Both will show you the various designs you've ordered. There will be a Download Here link on those pages, next to each downloadable item. Click there to download this font and click the downloaded file to click the Install button on the top left of that font's file.
In your designing software, chose the TRW Clean Stone Free font and start typing. For all software other than Cricut's Design Space, use the following font point sizing, depending on the stone size you are using: ss6 Point Size: 206 ss10 Point Size: 272 ss16 Point Size: 337 ss20 Point Size: 426
For Design Space, use the following font point sizing: SS6=80 SS10=108 SS16=138 SS20=164
After typing your text, send your design to your vinyl cutter and cut the template from Magic Flock. You do not mirror your design when cutting rhinestone templates.
Also, you cannot change the size of a rhinestone font/design, unless you change the stone size that you are using and adjust the template so the holes will fit the new rhinestone size. The holes must be the proper size, so that the rhinestones fall into the template.

A: Go to the MY ACCOUNT page on our website.

Q:Cant figure out how to install the font on my acer chromebook 315. I cant even open the file or install it. Also wont pop up on Cricut Design space
Asked by: Melina Garcia
- 11/14/2023
A: We had to Google 'How to install a ttf to a Chromebook 315" to find out how fonts get added to Chromebooks.
The video we saw showed when you download a font, you double click it and it shows on your left toolbar as though it's a USB port. The video showed to drag the ttf to a location you'll be able to quickly access, like your Downloads folder. When you go to your software, click on the Characters icon and then you need to "Load Font" to your Chromebook. After you select the ttf from the Downloads folder, it should install to your Chromebook.
After you've installed a font to your Chromebook, open Design Space. Click the font dropdown menu and select SYSTEM rather than the default 'Cricut Fonts'. All of our fonts begin with TRW. You'll be able to type your text with this free TRW Clean Stone Font and we have the font point sizing for most of our rhinestone fonts either on the thumbnail or in the Description/Specifications tabs. This font uses a point size of 108 for ss10 rhinestones.

Asked by: Eleonora Sabogal

A: The stones need a certain size since they're a finite object. Here's a great video of ours explaining how to size this exact font: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyYrJFH0Epg&t=26s

Q:I have watched several videos on the rhinestone fonts, can't seem to get them to work properly. I changed the font according to the TRW font sizing guide. But the wholes come out as ovals. Do you have to change both the font size and change the size of the SS10 in the place and fill tab.
Also I've watched where he automatically fill a letter with stones. Can you give me the specific settings? I've followed his directions and reviewed his setting on the screen, but can't get the letters or items to fill. What number video should I be viewing for this. Maybe I'm viewing the wrong video.
Thank you
Asked by: Patricia Elkins
- 4/7/2024
A: One of the first things to check when you're getting ovals vs circles, is are your proportions locked, and that your rollers are locked on the machine. I'm uncertain what software you're using, but we use the TRW Design Wizard paired with Corel Draw to fill our designs. If you're using Silhouette Business Edition, try this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJ2msn6e6Bc Yes, when you change sizes of stones, the size of the font will change as well since the rhinestones are fixed items.

Q:Do you have any fonts that have Hebrew letters? or do you have any ideas how I can make a rhinestone template for Hebrew letters? Thank you so much!
Asked by: Benjamin Miller
- 4/15/2024
A: I'm sorry, we do not have any Hebrew fonts.
To make a rhinestone template from text requires editing and not all software has rhinestone capabilities. BUT--one thing you can do is to bring in the image of the text you'd like to convert to rhinestones to whichever software you are using. Size it to the dimensions you'd like the final design to be.
If your software has a rhinestone panel or tools to create a rhinestone design, you can try the different fill options available in your software. Converting text to rhinestones will always entail editing and time, which is one reason we do have so many rhinestone fonts on our site.
If your software does not have rhinestone tools, we've heard of customers locking the image, then creating a circle in their software. Size the circle to be a tiny bit bigger than the actual rhinestones you'll be using. We use .1" for ss06 or 2mm rhinestones and .135" for ss10 or 3mm rhinestones. Duplicate that circle over and over and individually place them over the text, following the outer path and doing a fill, if you'd like a full rhinestone design. This can take hours of work, so please give yourself some time and grace during this process.
The other option would be to reach out to our Design Team to request a custom design. They would not be able to create a full font, but if you have an image, you can upload it to our Estimate page: https://www.therhinestoneworld.com/estimate-for-custom-product Be sure to give our Designers as much information as possible, including finished design size, sizes of rhinestones you'd like, which colors, which rhinestones on our site to use (we have different levels or qualities of rhinestones to choose from on our website). If you choose to work with our Designers, they will reach out to you via email after you submit your request on our site.

Q:I am trying to make an item for a 5t shirt. Using ss10 rhinestones. I am struggling with font sizing. Everything is coming out way to small. Is there a font that works better for smaller images.
Asked by: Jeri fincher
- 5/6/2024
A: Unlike vinyl designs, rhinestone designs and fonts cannot be stretched or shrunk to fit a specific size shirt or tumbler. That's because the holes in the template need to be the proper size for your rhinestones to fall into. If you shrink a rhinestone font, the holes shrink as well and your stones will not fit.
We have our rhinestone fonts organized by height when using ss10 rhinestones. You can search through the 1" fonts to find smaller fonts, which will make the rhinestone text smaller than using this large TRW Clean Stone Free font. Just go to FONTS > Rhinestone Fonts > Shop by ss10 Font Height.

Q:Does the stone size stay the same if I make the 9x9 design to fit a large t-shirt vs a 10x10 to fit an
XL t-shirt
Asked by: Elena Ashley
- 5/7/2024
A: Rhinestone designs and fonts are called "set in stone" because they cannot be stretched or shrunk the way vinyl designs can be. That's because the holes in the template need to be the proper size for the stones to fall in when you're brushing them into the template.
Think of it like this: Your rhinestone text ends up being 9.5" wide when you have the template holes sized to fit your ss10 rhinestones. Now, if you shrink the template to be 7" wide, those holes are quite a bit smaller, too. The ss10 rhinestones will not fit. The ONLY way to resize a rhinestone font or design is to use bigger or smaller rhinestones and stretch or shrink the entire template to fit those bigger or smaller stones.

Q:My Silhouette cameo 4 designer ed does not have a 272 pt setting for ss 10 rhinestones. What should I use? 2nd question is I saw a video with Matt creating large block letter templates with rhinestones. I seem to have lost it? Where can I find it? Thank you
Asked by: Nancy OConnor

A: The point size we are showing for this font is the FONT point size. When you are in Silhouette Studios, select the TRW Clean Stone Free font and then change the point size to the corresponding size listed on the Product Features tab. You may not have 272 in the dropdown, but just highlight and change the number.

Q:How do I change the free TRW Clean Stone font circle size to SS10 or SS5. I have tried converting to path after ungrouping and releasing, it still does not work appropriately. I am using Silhouette Design Space Business Edition
Asked by: Sonji Holland Johnson
- 12/11/2024
A: You were very close! Here's our cheat sheet with a few ways to change the dot sizes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15cuXaYlD1lHGlUvBEzvhtkp-5dg4bKY45rwx7OgX6a8/edit?tab=t.0 Remember -- After ungroup and release compound path, when you go to change the sizes at the top like the sheet says, you want the lock closed to keep it proportionate, AND be sure you're hitting the enter key after changing the size and not tabbing through. Example, for SS10, you'd change that to .135 You will need to mess with the size a little as it wants to keep the size of the text and you'll see the gaps increase or decrease with your stones. You can grab the full design and scale it up or down with the top corner (like you would for htv or adhesive), then change your stone sizes again. What you're doing there is adjusting those spaces. No matter what you do with stones, you're going to need editing such as adding or subtracting stones to accommodate your design size if you want something out of those ranges. Play around with it, you'll get it :-)

A: This is one of our rhinestone fonts. You can use it to create a template from our Magic Flock, then brush our rhinestones in, and lift out with our acrylic hotfix heat tape. From there you can use a variety of our other materials, depending on what you'd like to make, such as decals, or simply move it to a shirt and press them. We've also used our fonts to create what we call Baby Bling. This is when we use holographic htv for the dots instead of stones as a safer option for littles who may chew on their shirts. We have thousands of videos showing how to use our materials on our YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@TheRhinestoneWorld
