Full Rhinestone Tumbler with Glitter HTV Tutorial
For 16 oz Maars Tumbler
Other types of HTV can be used to make a rhinestone tumbler, each has variations in properties and application settings that should be taken into account. These instructions are specifically for Siser Glitter Heat Transfer Vinyl.
Peel off backing from Magic Flock, put Magic Flock sticky side on the cutting mat.
Magic Flock recommended cut setting:
Blade Depth 6
Load cutting mat into cutter and cut.
Take out and stick Magic Flock on the table and brush rhinestones on.
Place the hot fix tape on the rhinestones to transfer them on to the tape.
Cut the siser Glitter HTV bigger than the rhinestone area then place it on the shiny side of HTV Anything.
Place cover sheets over and under the Siser Glitter HTV. Press with light/medium pressure at 310°F for 6-8 sec.
Leave the Siser Glitter HTV to cool off a bit then peel off the carrier sheet.
Place the hot fix tape with rhinestones on the pressed Siser Glitter HTV.
Place cover sheet over and under the materials from step 8 and press with firm pressure at 320°F for 15 sec.
Let it cool for a bit then remove the hot fix tape.
Place the rhinestones face down, and place cover sheets over and under it again, then press for 5 sec.
Cut out the rhinestone tumbler decal using scissors. You should have one part for the lid and one for the body.
Slowly peel off the backing on HTV anything of the lid part and wrap the rhinestones decal around the lid.
Peel off the backing on HTV anything of the body part and trim off a piece at the middle.
Reapply the HTV backing on the rhinestone decal, leaving a small sticky gap at the middle.
Place the tumbler on a cup holder. (Check out tutorial how to make the tumbler holder)
Apply the sticky gap of the rhinestone decal on the middle of the tumbler.
Lift up the tumbler and test wrap it to see if the rhinestone decal is perfectly align. Trim off extra parts if needed.
When satisfy, place tumbler back on the cup holder, peel off the HTV backing and wrap the rhinestone decal around.
You are done. Leave product at least 48 hours before using.
