Q: Is this a good starter kit for me to start rhinestoning tshirts?
Keep in mind as well once you need to replenish your stone supply, that we carry Hotfix and Flatback stones. For anything with garments you'll need Hotfix. They come with a heat activated glue pad on the back of each stone while the Flatbacks are more for hand placing with a two part epoxy or glue and do not come with the adhesive on the backs like Hotfix do.
Q: This might be a silly question, but are all of the rhinestones in this kit hotfix?
A: Yes. We will update our product description to make that more clear to future shoppers.
Q: Absolutely new to rhinestones. Is this kit appropriate for tshirts, caps and other iron on items ?
A: Yes, you would use hot-fix stones on almost any application involving a garment or heat press.
Q: Can I use this to kit to make tumblers, I bought the templates so now I need the flock
A: To create the tumblers, you will also need HTV Anything decal material. This is what you'll press your glitter htv to. If you would like to use JUST hotfix rhinestones without the glitter htv behind it, please use our Bling Anything decal material.
With using either of our two Decal materials, you'll also need a smooth Teflon sheet as well as whichever tumbler template you'd like to create.
This kit does provide a nice variety of rhinestones to get started. Please check the templates you are interested in to confirm the stone count. This kit has 25 gross of Crystal hotfix stones and 10 gross each of 5 different colors that you can choose in order to personalize your kit.
There are 144 rhinestones in a single gross. Ten gross would be 1440.
Q: Do you choose the colors you want in your kit.
A: Yes, this kit comes with 30 gross of ss10 crystal and a total of 5 gross of 5 colors of your choosing.
Q: I want to make a rhinestone shirt “stepping into my 65th birthday like a queen.” What will I need to get started? Is there a kit I can purchase that will allow me to accomplish making a rhinestone shirt?
A: This kit will provide you with all materials you would need for that project, but you would also need a a vinyl cutter and a heat press to make the template and shirt.
Q: Do I need any special software to create my design templates? I use Corel draw, Cricut and silhouette
A: The font that comes with this kit can be used with almost any design software. Silhouette Studio Designer and Business edition also comes with rhinestone designing features, although I would recommend you try out our TRW Design Wizard Corel add on.
Q: I am trying to place my order and pick my 5 colors of stone and the system keeps reverting back to amethyst for all colors. Help!
I would like Red Siam, Yellow, blue topaz, TRW Blue and Black.
A: We have been updating our site recently, please clear your cache that should solve your issue. If you need further assistance please reach out to our support department via the info below.

Q: Do you sell alphabets and numbers already cut from the magic flock and if not do you know where I can get some up until I get my cutter. I already have my heat press btw. Thanks
A: Unfortunately, that is not a service we offer. I'm sorry!
Q: Hi, I’m excited about getting into hotfix rhinestones. I would like to make t-shirts and maybe decals. Is the difference between this starter pack and the t-shirt pack the extra fonts ( which are cool ) or am I missing something else? I have a silhouette cameo 4 cutter. I like the idea of picking my own color Rhinestones. Thanks!
A: We're happy to have you!
First, there are different materials needed for creating both items.
Hotfix stones means it has a backing to it that, with heat from a press, will activate and affix itself to whatever is behind it.
They will work for clothing as well as the stone decals but that leads us into materials for each.
The difference in the kits mentioned is the fonts as well as the number of stones.
For shirts - You'll need hotfix stones, hotfix tape to lift them and press, as well as magic flock to cut your templates.
For stone decals - You'll need hotfix stones, magic flock for template, hotfix tape to lift stones and press, and you'll need the part that makes a decal with it possible - our bling anything material to heat press them onto.
It would also be a grand idea to invest in a teflon sheet to help protect any exposed areas upon pressing.
Q: do i have everything in my rhinestone crafter starter kit to make a tumbler or do i need to purchase htv anything
A: Depending on what you're wanting to create - Here's a cup wrap kit if you're out to fully wrap, but keep in mind the templates are made for these specific cups / taper. If you're out to make an HTV and stone decal, then yes you'll need HTV Anything as well. https://www.therhinestoneworld.com/search.asp?keyword=tumbler+kit. We also have a lot of videos on our YouTube for the order the materials will go in, etc.
Q: what is the difference between hotfix & htv rhinestones? im looking for the best starter kit. for shirts & decals & cups!!! please led me in the right direction please!
A: Each kit accomplishes a different craft.
First, there are no htv rhinestones, let me explain -
There are nonhotfix (flatback) stones, these are used for blinging anything by hand using an adhesive like our fusion tack or a two part epoxy and placing the stones one by one by hand with a Crystal Katana tool or another rhinestone pick up tool of your choice. These stones are smooth on the back and generally just silver, bare. This is hand blinging, and our shoe kit is meant for that.
Now, there are hotfix stones. These are meant for garments or used in conjunction with our HTV Anything but I'll get to that in a minute. Hotfix stones (we have diamond cut and korean low lead, the only difference in them are the cut/shine.) Hotfix stones have a heat activated adhesive pad already placed on the backs of each stone. If you look you'll notice a gray backing. That's the pad. For shirts these are what you'll use and are included in the tee shirt kit.
Now, the difference in materials -- Most importantly, we have 3 thousand youtube videos that can walk you through the entire process of each type of craft you want to achieve here. We've covered the stones, now you'll need a design download and open our crafter file. They're already knocked out and the holes cut and in place. All you do is load the blue Magic Flock (no backing is best but youtube will help greatly with the details), cut, place on the table and brush in your stones. Then there's Hotfix heat tape. That's the material you'll use to place over your stone design, and lift them out of the flock keeping the design in place. Lay directly on your shirt and press. Let cool a bit, peel off the heat tape leaving a stone design behind on your shirt.
Now the other materials for decals..... We have bling anything which lets you create stones into a decal. And we have HTV Anything which lets you apply HTV to it, press, and creates that also into a decal. With HTV Anything you can even add stones to the top and press again leaving a rhinestone htv decal. The stones will NOT stay in place if you do this on a shirt, they will come off in launder. It will only work for the decals.
Again for visual on each product, please visit our Youtube channel at The Rhinestone World. There's many short videos but for an extreme beginner, we suggest watching any that are marked Lives or Live Training. They are much slower and more in depth and Matt answers the questions along the way as it was filmed.
So in short, no kit has everything you're wanting, they're all split up. If you choose to get more than one kit, I do recommend carefully labelling each material as they all can look very similar but will fail if used under the wrong conditions.
Hot-Fix Rhinestone Crafter Kit
Q: Hello, approximately how many bags of 10 gross rhinestones is needed for a Starbucks Tumbler?
A: Two bags
Hot-Fix Rhinestone Crafter Kit
Q: Newbie here! I want to embellish images (not just lettering) on a wood sign that I'm making with my Cricut. I will be using HTV on the sign for the images. Can I use this kit to do that? Is it even possible to do that? Can I "cut" the magic flock into my shape to be able to use the rhinestones? Is there a better way of doing what I'm thinking? Would I put the HTV on the sign first and then the rhinestones on top or do I just put the rhinestones directly on the wood sign instead?
A: It sounds like the easiest way would be to hand bling over your custom designs. Unless you're using one of our premade fonts and designs, it would take a LOT of editing to create something from scratch. The magic flock is cut from there creating all of those holes for the stones to be brushed into and flip right side up. From there we lift with Hotfix heat tape and transfer as a design whole to our garment, etc. We do have a hand bling kit though if that's the route you decide to take.
