Q: Looking to upgrade from a Graphtec Lite-50 cutter. Is this a step up or really just a lateral choice? Have to have a 20" cut for vinyl and the occasional flock material.

A: Hey there! The maximum cutting width is 23.6in and the maximum media loading width is 28.3in. This cutter is really only recommended to cut vinyl and decal materials. Thanks for your question!

You can cut the Magic Flock template material without a mat using the GCC Expert 22 LX24" cutter. The GCC comes with Great Cuts software, which is the software used for doing the actual cut, not a designing software.

The TRW Design Wizard is a separate software, which works within CorelDraw Graphics Suite. If you are using the TRW Design Wizard, you are able to send your designs directly to your GCC vinyl cutter and it will also open the Great Cuts software in order for your cut to be sent to the GCC Expert II.

Yes, you would need a mat to keep fabric from bunching up and sliding around, jamming the cutter, and possibly breaking your blade/machine.
Settings would be similar to magic flock, since fabric is sometimes thicker than the vinyl most blades are designed for.

A: The GCC machines are drop shipped within 1-2 business days from California. Depending on where you live, it could be a couple of days up to about a week to get to you from the time they drop ship.

A: The GCC Expert II LX24" vinyl cutter ships directly from the manufacturer. We do not have the vinyl cutters here in our warehouse, nor do we carry parts for it.

Matt discussed the GCC Expert II in one of his Ask Matt blogs, which is posted to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoP08HFYmgQ

The Expert II still has a stepper motor, so the main difference you'll get with this vinyl cutter is the wider cut width. Another option would be the Silhouette Cameo 4 Pro.

If you have the Wizard, you can export to the GCC. If you do not, they use Great Cuts software. The Cameo uses Silhouette Studios, and they offer 3 levels for their software, with Basic being free. Designer Edition is a $50 software and Business Edition is $100. The latter two can import svg files.

When your business has the budget for a Graphtec ce7000-60 or a Roland, that would truly be a step up.
