do I need to put anything on top of this type of vinyl such as the vinyl shield?

A:
Our ColorSpark Permanent Adhesive Vinyl does hold up very well on it's own. But smooth adhesive vinyl is exactly the reason we created Vinyl Shield. I would highly recommend applying ColorSpark Vinyl Shield over the top as that will protect the surface of the Adhesive vinyl from scratches/lifting as well as make it dishwasher safe.
The exception would be our Colorspark Glitter Adhesive vinyls as the Vinyl Shield cannot get a tight bond on the textures.

Hello...I am interested in your ColorSpark Permanent Adhesive Vinyl line. I am subbed to your YouTube and have looked for info but I can't find what I am looking for. I am wanting to make car decals and stickers out of ColorSpark. Can you provide me the following information please...the mil, is it UV resistant, does it stretch or shrink? I have tried Oracal 651, Siser EasyPSV and Starcraft (horrible product, imo) but I really like you guys and being from Florida myself, I would love to buy all my supplies from you guys. Can you please advise? I am wanting to add stickers and decals to my business. Thank you kindly. Taryn Urias

Hi there!
We have many different styles or versions of our ColorSpark line and all have somewhat different ratings/thicknesses.
Our shortest outdoor rating would be our temperature Color Changing Adhesive vinyl, which due to its properties, is rated for 1-2 years outdoors.
Our Holographic, Opal, Metallic and Patterned Adhesive vinyl are all rated 2 years outdoors and our Glitter, Permanent and UV Magic Color Changing Adhesive vinyl are all rated up to 3-5 years outdoors.

This is permanent adhesive vinyl (like a car window decal). If you're wanting to apply to garments or other cloth like surfaces then you'll want HTV (heat transfer vinyl).

What setting do I use on a Cricut Explore Air2 to cut ColorSpark Permanent Adhesive Vinyl from the Craft Pack? I referred to the Recommended Cut Setting chart for my machine, but it did not list The ColorSpark Permament Vinyl there. I noted that Permanent AV is on the chart and recommends the Vinyl setting for it. Would that be what I should use?

How to Apply Colorspark Adhesive Vinyl
Feed the vinyl into your machine shiny side up and adjust cut settings as needed. Cutting mats are recommended for Cameo and Cricut vinyl cutters.
Click here for a list of Colorspark recommended cut settings.
Once cutting is complete, remove the vinyl and cutting mat from your machine. Weed excess material as needed. For very intricate designs, we recommend reverse weeding!
Place transfer tape on top of your weeded decal, ensuring that the tape is flat. Apply pressure with a squeegee to create a stronger grip and remove air bubbles.
Before application, we recommend placing the tape and decal face-down on a flat surface. Use one hand to hold the tape down. Use your other hand to apply pressure and peel the carrier backwards, away from the decal and tape. This will cause the vinyl to release and stick only to your tape.
Apply your decal to a flat, clean surface for best results. Use medium pressure and a vinyl squeegee to remove air bubbles. Carefully peel back your transfer tape and admire your new decal!
What Type Of Application Tape Should You Use with Colorspark Adhesive Vinyl?
ColorSpark Medium-Tack Blue Grid Application Tape
should be used for most standard vinyl decal projects.
ColorSpark High Tack Gray Grid Application Tape
is used for specialty vinyl's such as ColorSpark Metallic-Adhesive-Vinyl, Holographic-Adhesive-Vinyl and Opal-Adhesive-Vinyl.
ColorSpark Super-High-Tack Black Grid Application Tape
is specially designed for use with ColorSpark-Glitter-Textured-Adhesive-Vinyl.
