Tired of one color? Mix things up with ColorSpark's Color Changing Adhesive Vinyl!

When exposed to cold temperatures (below 59 degrees Fahrenheit), Arctic Blue changes from Clear to Blue, Avalanche changes from White (slight blue tint) to dark blue, Blizzard changes from White to Light Blue, Dragonfruit changes from Pink to Purple, Limeade changes from Yellow-Green to Dark Green, Lemon drop changes from Clear to Yellow, Eclipse changes from Clear to Black, Tangerine changes from Clear to Orange, Gator changes from Clear to Dark Green, Forest changes from White (slight green tint) to Green, Passion Fruit changes from Clear to Purple, Strawberry changes from Clear to Red; Cherry Changes from White to Red, Blueberry changes from Blue to Purple; Evergreen changes from Green to Dark Green; Pineapple changes from Yellow to Dark green; Rose Pink changes from White to Pink; and Raspberry changes from Pink to Red.

When exposed to warm temperatures, Acai changes from Purple to Pink, Volcano changes from Red to Yellow, Riptide changes from Turquoise to Teal, Cotton Candy changes from White to Light Pink, Smoke changes from Clear to Dark Grey and Black Lava changes from Black to Red.

ColorSpark Color Changing Adhesive Vinyl is dishwasher safe, making it ideal for embellishing cups, tumblers, and more!

Sold as a 5-foot continuous roll this adhesive vinyl is 3.5 mm thick and 12” inches wide.

ColorSpark Color Changing Adhesive Vinyl is intended for indoor use. Not suitable for prolonged sunlight exposure.

With a peel and stick adhesive backing this vinyl is easy to use and can be cut with scissors, professional-cutters, artist-blades, or craft-cutters.

Does not stick

So I purchased this product because I thought it would be so cool to add to cups and also make a few gifts for coworkers. Well- I’m embarrassed because I literally made 5 cups and on all 5 the vinyl came off in several different spots. I purchased both hot and cold so I thought it might be because it was too hot for the product but I made my sister her cup and she told me that on hers the vinyl did raise after second use. I’ve made her several cups so I don’t have to worry about her soaking or washing them wrong to make them fall off. I spent quite a bit of money on 3 different colors and I’m just disappointed that none of them hold up. Not to mention the “white to blue” is “clear to blue”. I love the idea but I wouldn’t spend a lot of money on these. I've bought better products.

It is amazing, I tried something new and added it to my husband's car an it worked and changed color in the cold and in the summer it stood the same... my kids had fun washing the car watching it change color

Color Spark Color Changing Vinyl

I purchased the Artic Blue and Dragonfruit and these are awesome. They really make tumblers pop with different colors when cold liquid is added. Will definitely be ordering more.

A: Yes it is dishwasher safe so long as the cup itself is dishwasher safe, but I would still recommend hand washing just for longevity.

A: Generally this requires a higher heat to change (warm water, tea, or coffee will do), this vinyl changes color due to heat, not UV directly. We do not currently have a metallic variant of this vinyl but we do have a UV color changing version.

Q: Will the artic blue cold* show up(turn visibly blue) against your black reflective vinyl?

A: Being that this vinyl is clear when not color changing, the black background would effect the shade of blue and potentially not make it has visible as it would be on a white background.

Q: Do I have to let it cure on a Starbuck's cold cup? Do I have to seal it on a Starbucks cold cup?

A: We advise letting the vinyl cure for 24 hours before use. We used such a strong adhesive on the temperature color-changing vinyl, you won't need to apply anything over them. If you do have tiny details in your design that you're concerned about lifting, you can certainly add our ColorSpark Vinyl Shield over the top to ensure your vinyl stays beautiful and secure.

Q: how many Starbucks cups can you get out of one roll? 16 oz. and 20 oz

A: We only offer templates for the 24 oz Starbucks cups, which depending on how you align your cuts would allow you to get about 3 from this roll.

Q: Applied ColorSpark Temperature Color-Changing Adhesive Vinyl to my Starbucks plastic tumbler but the thin lines of the decal are already coming off, do I need to use something else with this? Will it not work since the cup sweats?

A: Generally thin decals may lift on their own with use anyway, there's less adhesive grabbing to the surface. One thing to try, esp on a heavily handled cup, would be to try drying the surface fully, for likely 24 hours even just to be sure there's zero moisture, then try laying our Vinyl Shield over the top to protect those thin cuts. Make sure to cut the shield larger than your decal so it overlaps, you want it to have a really good seal all the way around to "shield" the decal.

Q: Can you really put this in dishwasher and/or microwave?

A: Dishwasher yes, with Vinyl Shield preferably. Microwave, never. No vinyl should ever go in the microwave.

Q: Does the color changing feature work when applied to double insulated tumblers? Will I still get the full color changing effect?

A: The ColorSpark Temperature Color Changing Adhesive Vinyl changes color when it is either warmed or cooled, depending on which one you're using. If the double walled tumbler does not allow heat or cold to seep through at all, the vinyl will still change color due to atmospheric temperatures. If it is cold or hot out, you'll see the color change even on the roll for those specific vinyls.

Q: Hey, I'm curious about your colour changing vinyl.. I was thinking about putting it on the side of a motorcycle engine, over the clutch. What temps would this vinyl work in? Do you have any high temp heat changing vinyl?

A: We do not have high temp vinyl for extreme conditions such as the side of an engine, but it would work great on a less intense area of the bike for sure, just like a regular car decal.

Q: Is the Clear on the Clear to Black Cold Color Changing Vinyl, totally clear or is more like etched look? I would be putting on clear glass, will it show up if it isn't cold? I can't find any pictures of it on something to see how clear it is.

Q: Is the color changing vinyl permanent

A: When it comes to adhesive vinyl, permanent or decal/temporary refers to the strength of the adhesive.

Yes, this ColorSpark Temperature Color Changing Adhesive Vinyl is permanent. We've used a super strong adhesive on these. While the adhesive is strong enough to be top rack dishwasher safe, due to the temperature color-changing properties, we recommend either handwash or be sure to not use a sterilize setting on your dishwasher.

Q: I am interested in your color changing vinyl. I need something that will change colors when the ambient temp in the room is above 85 degrees. Do you sell anything like this or know of someone who does? Thanks, Mark

A: I'm sorry, our ColorSpark Temperature Color Changing Adhesive Vinyl does not change at 85 degrees. It needs a bit warmer ambient temperature to change, or to be placed on a cup or mug and when a warm drink is poured in, the color begins to change.
We do not know of any vinyls even at other companies that will change at such a low temperature. Our COLD Color Changing vinyls will change with cold temperatures and our customers in chilly climates have told us their Cold Color Changing adhesive vinyl arrives at their door already changed. It will revert back to it's normal color at room temperature.

A: The color change is only temporary and it will change back to its original color when it returns to room temperature.

Q: Does this work on a Cricut machine? I’ve tried numerous times to weed and it simply isn’t working. Very difficult to lift vinyl around the letters. Everything lifts. Not satisfied at all

Q: Can you add Exopy and glitter to the color changing vinyl?

A: We do not work with epoxy, so we cannot verify if the color will still change, especially if you are applying this to a double walled tumbler or if the epoxy has insulative properties that could prevent the transfer of temperature.
