Hello, I wanted to purchase a better blade for my air, the clean-cut Roland 45 degrees for my explore air? Do I also need the housing or it can be placed in the housing it came with?

The blade holder is not compatible with the Cricut. If you would like to upgrade your Cricut blade you will need to remove the old blade from your current Cricut holder and replace it with the Roland|GCC|Cricut Cutter Blades - 45 Degrees 2mm ( SKU: CutterBlades_GCC/Roland_45_2mm )

How do I remove the blade from my Cricut Explorer air 2 so I can replace it with the Roland 45 blade? Does the top of the housing screw apart or something? I can't get it to budge.

A:
Hi there! You should be able to push the plunger button on the back of your Explore Air 2's blade holder...same as if you were replacing it with another Cricut Blade. If it's not popping the blade out, you may have some debris wedged in your blade holder. If this is the case, try tapping your blade holder against a countertop to dislodge the vinyl which must be caught in there.

The GCC/Roland blade holder does not fit the Graphtec. However, we do have a blade holder for the Graphtec: https://www.therhinestoneworld.com/cameo-graphtec-blade-holder

Craft Vinyl Cutter replacement blade for Roland|GCC|Cricut Cutter Blade - 45 Degrees 2mm is a replacement blade for the following cutters: Roland GS-24, GCC Expert IV, GCC Expert, Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Explore Air 2. This blade is not compatible with Cricut Joy. If you are cutting thinner materials such as Siser-Easyweed or Colorspark-Holographic we suggest you use the 45 degree blade. If you are cutting thicker material like Magic-Flock or Glitter-vinyl, we suggest the 65 degree blade for the best cut. 2mm blades fit into the standard blade housing of the Roland GS-24, Cricut Explore Air, Cricut Explore Air 2, older GCC models (Jaguar IV and Expert 24), and TRW's Blade Holder. For Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Explore Air 2 you must use the pre-existing holder that came with your Cricut to hold the TRW replacement blade. To fit into the standard blade housing for the Jaguar V and Expert II you will need the The 2.5mm blade, this 2mm blade will not fit in their standard blade housing.
