A: Hi there! While I am thrilled that you love the rhinestones in this kit, I apologize for any issues you're having installing these fonts. You are almost there, though! Let me help. All of the fonts included are TTF (True Type Fonts) or OTF (Open Type Fonts). After we get these installed on your computer, you'll actually be able to use them in any software that you'd type in, if you wanted. You will need to download/install fonts on any computer or device you'd like to use them on (example: a font downloaded to your laptop computer won't automatically show in your software on your iPad).
For OTF fonts, you'll go to your MY ACCOUNT page and then click the MY ORDERS link. Click on the order from the Rhinestone T-shirt Crafting Business Starter Kit and download the fonts. These are OTF, so the installation process is sliglhtly different than for TTF. You'll see the mini buttons in your lower screen with the font names ending in the extension .otf. Click the OPEN FILE link. You'll see a page that looks like several sentences typed in the rhinestone font in different point sizes. Up at the top left, click the INSTALL button. If you had Silhouette open while you were installing, please close Silhouette Studios and reopen. The fonts should be now installed on your computer.
If you happen to order a TTF from us, here are the steps to follow to downloand/install on your computer.
After you download the fonts, you'll want to EXTRACT them and add them to the Fonts folder installed on your computer. What I like to do, just to make the process smoother, is go to my Control Panel on my computer first. Click that and search, "FONT" in the control panel. [To find Control Panel on a Windows computer, click the little Windows button in the corner of your computer screen. Click on SETTINGS and then Search. Search Control Panel. In the Search Results, Control Panel will pop up. It currently looks like a mini blue rectangle with itty bitty shapes on it for the icon. Click Control Panel and in the upper right hand corner, search FONT. Your Font folder will pop up. Click on it to open it and leave it open for now.
Go back to your Downloads folder to find the fonts you've downloaded. You want to RIGHT CLICK and EXTRACT ALL. You will see a little window pop up telling you a file destination--there will also be a TINY box that reads, "Show extracted files once completed". Check that box. After the font has been extracted the font and any extra versions of it will open in a pop up window. Simply highlight the fonts that have been extracted, click and drag/drop to your font folder. They will be added to your font library. If you had your designing software open during any of this process, please close it and reopen. The fonts should populate your system fonts automatically.
