How to Make A Rhinestone Custom Name Tumbler
Specific Instructions for Silhouette users with TRW stone 1 Shadow font
1. Creating the Custom Name Design
Open Silhouette Studio and use TRW stone 1 Shadow Font to type a desired name.TRW stone 1 shadow font
TRW stone 1 shadow font consists of 4 different fonts. Type the same name with each font (total 4 times) or copy and paste the name and change the font. For SS10 rhinestones, set your font size to 87. You may color each font differently to easily identify them. Click on the "Fill Color" panel and choose your colors. Go to Panel -> Fill Color
Notice the spacing of each letter doesn't line up with the other fonts, so ungroup all text. Highlight all the text, right click and click "ungroup" or go to Object -> Ungroup. (Ctrl + Shift + G)
Highlight the blue Sophia text and send the text to the back by right click "Send to back" then send the green Sophia text to the back and lastly the red one. Make sure it has to be done in that order so when the text are align on top of each other, we can see all the text layers. Next highlight all of the same letters and click align center. You can go to Object -> Align -> Align Center-Middle or click the icon. Do this for all the letters in the name.
Once all the letters are centered aligned, highlight all of the same letters and move them closer to each other by clicking the left or right key arrow on the key board or holding the "shift" key and move the letters with the mouse.
Make sure the blue text layers are touching each other, that's how close we want each letter to be spacing from each other.
Now open the "Select by Color" panel by clicking Edit->Select by colors click on "By Fill" click on each color and weld them.
To weld you can click on the icon or go to Object -> Modify -> Weld (Ctrl + Shift + W)
Now group each color if needed then separate each text layer to be ready to cut. You can select each color by fill and drag them apart.
Number 1 design: Cut file ready for Magic Flock - Do not mirror the design.
Number 2 design: Cut file ready for the top layer of Siser Glitter HTV - Mirror the design.
Number 3 design: Cut file ready for the bottom layer of Siser Glitter HTV - Mirror the design.
Number 4 design: Cut file ready for HTV Anything material, cut on the shiny side of the HTV anything - Do not mirror the design
2. Creating the Rhinestone Transfer
Peel off the backing of the magic flock and stick the magic flock on the cutting mat. Load it into the cutter and cut.Recommended cut settings for magic flock
Remove the Magic Flock and stick it on a flat surface. We recommend white boards for an easier process.
Brush rhinestones in a circular motion against the Magic Flock.
Once all stones are in place, apply hot fix tape to the rhinestones to transfer them. Set your transfer aside.
3. Creating the HTV Decal
Stick the Siser Glitter HTV on the cutting mat. Load into the cutter and cut. Mirror the design before cutting.Recommended cut settings for Siser
Weed the glitter HTV.
Stick the HTV Anything shiny side up on the cutting mat and cut. Do not mirror the design before cutting.Recommended cut settings for HTV anything
Weed the HTV Anything.
Center the bottom design (design number 3 in the image above) of the Siser Glitter HTV on top of the shiny side of the HTV Anything.
Place cover sheets over and under the centered design. Set heat press to 315°F and press the design for 3 seconds at medium-firm pressure. Peel when cool.
Remove the carrier sheet.
Center the top design (design number 4 in the image above) of the Siser Glitter HTV on top of the pressed design.
Place cover sheets over and under the centered design. Set heat press to 315°F and press the design for 8 seconds at medium-firm pressure. Peel when cool.
Remove the carrier sheet.
Center the rhinestone transfer on the pressed design.
Place cover sheets over and under the centered design. Set heat press to 325°F and press the design for 15 seconds at medium-firm pressure.
Peel the hot fix tape while warm and leave the decal to cool.
Then place the decal face down cover it over and under with cover sheets and press again for 5 seconds.
Your custom decal is ready to be applied to a tumbler. Avoid bringing the decal into contact with water for the first 48 hours.
